MYSTERY surrounds the final days of a mum who vanished without a trace 20 years ago as cops discover human remains.
Malgorzata Wnuczek, from Leicester, went missing without a trace on her way home from work in May 2006, aged 27.

Specialist police officers yesterday discovered human remains while scouring the land near Grand Central Way as part of the investigation into her disappearance.
It’s currently unknown if they belong to Malgorzata with forensic tests due to take place to confirm whether they belong to the missing mum.
The Polish national was last spotted catching a bus in Sunningdale Road to travel into Leicester after work on May 31, 2006.
Two days before boarding that bus, Malgorzata, known as Gosia to her loved ones, sent a text message to her family – that was the last they heard from her.
After not hearing from their daughter, her parents who live in Poland, reported her missing to the Polish authorities the following month.
Malgorzata had a daughter named Ola, who was just three at the time of her mother’s disappearance.
She lived with Ola and her husband in the Knighton Fields area of Leicester after arriving in England in July 2005.
Cops launched a renewed search for Malgorzata in Grand Central Way on September 30 this year following information received from Polish police.
They remained in the area yesterday with a cordon and tent spotted as they continue to search for any clues that can shed light on her disappearance.
Detective Superintendent Jenni Greenway, the senior investigating officer for Leicestershire Police, said yesterday that she hoped the discovery would unearth crucial information on what happened to Malgorzata.
“While I appreciate this news may come as a shock to the community, I hope this discovery will provide us with information that helps us understand what may or may not have happened to Malgorzata,” she said.
“Officers are in contact with her family and are providing support to them at what is undoubtedly a difficult time.
“Officers will remain in the Watkin Road area to carry out further work and also provide reassurance to those living nearby.”
Malgorzata’s heartbroken family made an appeal for information alongside the force in 2016, ten years after she vanished.

Information provided by Polish police in June 2023 to the East Midlands Special Operations Unit led to a renewed search of the River Soar.
Desperate searches were undertaken by police divers across several days between the bridges in Mill Lane and Upperton Road.
It was in an effort to discover any of Malgorzata’s personal possessions or, potentially, a body.
A £10,000 reward was even offered by the authorities, but only seven people ever responded.
During that time, a 39-year-old man was arrested in Greater Manchester on suspicion of assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice.
However, he was later released with no further action taken.
