Netflix’s new medical drama Pulse isn’t anywhere near as intense as Max’s The Pitt, but at the end of Season 1, fans who found themselves immersed in the personal and professional lives of the Miami Level 1 Trauma Center team will surely find themselves hoping for a Season 2.
So will Zoe Robyn’s series return for a sophomore season? Or did the Season 1 finale mark the end of our time with Dr. Danny Simms (Willa Fitzgerald), Dr. Xander Phillips (Colin Woodell), and the rest of Pulse‘s core characters?
Pulse Season 1, Episode 10, “Kennedy,” finally revealed why Phillips signed an NDA and mysteriously transferred from his former hospital. It also saw a new Chief Resident appointed for the upcoming year. And it offered crucial development in Dr. Cole (Jack Bannon), Dr. Elijah (Jessie T. Usher), Dr. Cruz (Justina Machado), Dr. Soriano (Nestor Carbonell), Dr. Sanchez (J.R. Rodriguez), Chan (Chelsea Muirhead) and Camila’s (Daniela Nieves) stories.
So will there be a Pulse Season 2 on Netflix? Has the streamer renewed or canceled the medical drama? How did Pulse Season 1 end? And what could Pulse Season 2 look like? We’ve got answers! Here’s what we know about the future of the Netflix series.
Will There Be A Pulse Season 2 On Netflix?
As of Pulse‘s premiere date, April 3, Netflix had yet to officially renew the series for a second season, but that doesn’t mean a renewal is out of the question. It’s not uncommon for networks and streamers to wait a while after a season — especially of a new show — has premiered to announce a renewal, so Netflix will likely want to see how well the series performs.
Though Pulse‘s Season 1 finale does offer a nice sense of closure for characters that could serve as a satisfying end to the series if need be, writers also teed up a potential Season 2. So what could fans expect if Pulse is renewed for another season?

Pulse Ending Explained: What Will Pulse Season 2 Be About?
If you’re looking for a detailed Pulse Season 1 finale recap, Decider’s got you covered. But for the purposes of thinking ahead, here’s what you need to remember when considering potential Season 2 storylines. (Warning: Season 1 finale spoilers ahead.)
Xander finally told Danny that he transferred from Kennedy because he accidentally killed a 20-year-old college student while rushing a procedure at the request of Dr. Broussard. His parents covered it up and made him sign an NDA, but in the finale he revealed he went to the hospital review board and told them everything. If Pulse Season 2 is greenlit, fans will learn Xander’s professional fate. Will he get sued, lose his license, or feel the wrath of his parents? Only time will tell.
Another character awaiting their legal fate? Dr. Cole, whose relationship with Nia could cost him his future in medicine as well. Whether Nia lives or dies following her surgery, her family still has legal grounds to question the trauma center’s care, which Dr. Soriano is stressing over, too.
In addition to following new medical emergencies, Pulse Season 2 would also show the new trauma center dynamic now that Dr. Cruz will be head of surgery and Dr. Sanchez will be leading the ER. And of course, we’ll see what the future has in store for Danny, new Chief Resident Dr. Elijah, and the rest of Pulse‘s core characters.
