Princess Barbie Margot Robbie Can’t Stop Praising Nicola Coughlan, Exclaiming ‘I Love the Irish’
Margot Robbie had nothing but wonderful things to say about her Irish Barbie co-star, Nicola Coughlan
Margot Robbie has heaped praise on her Irish Barbie co-star Nicola Coughlan. The two appeared at the London premiere of the movie last night, posing for photos on the glitzy pink carpet.
While Margot is the main Barbie star in the highly-anticipated film, a slew of other actors appear as various versions of Barbie and Ken. Coughlan appears in the film as Diplomat Barbie.
At last night’s premiere, superstar Robbie spoke to FM104 about her Irish co-star. She said: “Isn’t she just the best? I told you today, I just love, I love Ireland, I love the Irish.”
She added: “Nicola being in the movie is another just icing on the cake for the Barbie movie. We’re so lucky.”
Other than her character’s name, we don’t know anything else about Diplomat Barbie; how much she will feature in the film, and which characters she will share scenes with. She posed for photos at last night’s premiere alongside the stacked cast.
Also starring in the film is Ryan Gosling, America Ferrera, Issa Rae, Kate McKinnon, Simu Liu, Michael Cera, Will Ferrell, Hellen Mirren, Emma Mackey, Alexandra Shipp, Dua Lipa, Ncuti Gatwa, and many more. The Barbie movie will be released in theaters around the world on July 21, the same day as Cillian Murphy’s Oppenheimer.
The trailers have teased events of the Barbie movie, showing Barbie and Ken, played by Margot Robbie and Ryan Goisling, escaping Barbie Land and entering the real world. Warner Bros has described the movie as a “journey of self-discovery”.
An official blurb for the Barbie movie reads: “Barbie and Ken are having the time of their lives in the colorful and seemingly perfect world of Barbie Land. However, when they get a chance to go to the real world, they soon discover the joys and perils of living among humans.”
