‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ Begins Production On Season 5 As Plot Is Revealed; Diane Guerrero, Teresa Maria, Richard Cabral & Steve Howey Among 8 To Recur; Cobie Smulders Upped To Series Regular

EXCLUSIVE: As production begins on Netflix‘s The Lincoln Lawyer, they’ve stacked up their Season 5 cast with 8 new recurring stars: Diane Guerrero (Doom Patrol) as Natalia, Teresa Maria (Narcos Mexico) as Tina Perez, Richard Cabral (Mayans) as Benny Perez, Steve Howey (Shameless) as Brian Cunningham, Patty Guggenheim (Twisted Metal) as Allison Finch, Corbin Bernsen (L.A. Law) as Richard Finch, Chris Diamantopoulos (The Sticky) as Frank Silver and Iker Garcia (The Pitt) as Rafa Wagner.

Additionally, Cobie Smulders has been promoted to series regular. She joined the show in Season 4 as Artemisia “Emi” Finch, a woman who says she’s Mickey Haller’s (Manuel Garcia Rulfo) long-lost sister. In Season 5 of The Lincoln Lawyer, Mickey Haller’s world is upended when the half-sister he never knew existed, Emi (Cobie Smulders), comes to him with a plea to help free a wrongfully convicted woman. In a season defined by blood ties and buried secrets, Mickey takes on a grueling habeas petition to overturn a six-year-old murder conviction, but the deeper he digs, the more nefarious the forces arrayed against him become.

Meanwhile, the stakes rise for his trusted team as Lorna (Becki Newton), Izzy (Jazz Rayburn), and Cisco (Angus Sampson) step up to tackle high-profile challenges of their own. Having just saved himself from a wrongful conviction in Season 4, Mickey is now determined to set right an enormous miscarriage of justice. But as he unravels a dangerous web of corruption and lies, he must grapple with the fractured legacy of his family — both his chosen family and the family he never knew he had.

The returning recurring guest cast includes Neve Campbell, Krista Warner, Angelica Maria, and Gigi Zumbado.

Across 4 Seasons, The Lincoln Lawyer has appeared on the Netflix Global Top 10 charts for 29 weeks and, since 2023, garnered 171M views according to the streamer’s engagement reports. Production of Seasons 1-4 of the series in Los Angeles spanned 359 days, the production hired over 4,300 cast and crew, worked with over 50 local vendors, and filmed at more than 50 locations across Los Angeles since its debut.

The Lincoln Lawyer was created for TV by David E. Kelley and developed for TV by Ted Humphrey, the latter of who co-showruns the series alongside Dailyn Rodriguez. All three executive produce alongside Connelly, Ross Fineman, Matthew J. Lieberman, Barry Jossen, and Tana Jamieson. A+E Studios is the studio.

The fifth season will consist of 10 episodes, inspired by the seventh book in “The Lincoln Lawyer” book series, Resurrection Walk, by author Michael Connelly.
