There are no dragons, but there is one thing that is no less frightening – romantic relationships.
Emma D’Arcy gained fame for their role as Rhaenyra Targaryen in House of the Dragon, a prequel to the iconic Game of Thrones. Immediately after its premiere, the show became popular around the world, and Emma’s Rhaenyra was described as one of the deepest and most convincing characters in the series.
According to fans, Emma does an excellent job of portraying strong-willed characters, and playing the only surviving daughter of King Viserys is further proof of that. However, as Emma claims, they have always strived to play diverse and complex characters, which allows them to reveal and improve their acting potential.
A few years before House of the Dragon in 2018, Emma starred in a bold British project that further reveals their acting range, and if you’re looking for another series to watch with Emma, Wanderlust is the perfect choice.
What is Wanderlust About?
The British miniseries from The Crown writer Nick Payne and My Mad Fat Diary director Luke Snellin, starring the stunning Toni Collette, tells the story of married couple Joy and Alan who enter into an open relationship at the end of their marriage.

Both characters are old school with their own habits and phobias. Perhaps this is why their first awkward attempts at a side affair end in complete failure.
Emma played one of the most significant roles – Joy and Alan’s daughter, Naomi Richards, who, free of the prejudices that her parents share, finds her own happiness.
Wanderlust is a Deep Drama About the Intricacies of Human Relationships

We live in a time when traditional monogamous relationships are slowly but surely becoming a thing of the past, giving way to something new. Cinema is sensitive to such trends in society: classic rom-coms are being replaced by daring dramas about the subtle details of human relationships.
This is exactly what Wanderlust is about. The main characters are ordinary people facing ordinary everyday problems in extraordinary circumstances. Somewhere on the surface, this is a story about how a person needs a person, or better yet, two. On a deeper level, this is a show about how harmony should be sought not in relationships with people, but within oneself.
Where to Stream Wanderlust?
Wanderlust is available to watch on Netflix.
