EXCLUSIVE: Ransom Canyon is the latest western drama to have gripped viewers on Netflix and after devouring Season 1, fans are eagerly awaiting news of a hoped-for second season

Andrew Liner plays Reid Collins in the Netflix show
Ransom Canyon actor Andrew Liner has opened up about the fate of his character, warning he could go “either way” in Season 2.
The Netflix actor plays Reid Collins on the hit western drama, with the character finding himself stuck in a love triangle with Lucas (Garrett Wareing) and Lauren (Lizzy Greene). While there isn’t yet any news on whether Ransom Canyon will be back for a second season, Andrew has teased what he’d like to happen if it returns.
“On the outside Reid has shown that he’s kind of cocky and confident, but through his actions he obviously is not. And I think that he’s constantly second guessing himself and constantly trying to do the right thing, but ending up maybe doing the wrong thing, or maybe doing something that wasn’t the right move,” he exlusively told The Mirror US.
He added, “What interests me about his complexities is that he could go either way. I would be completely on board with him really tapping into being good and really being like, ‘Nope, she’s all yours. I’m going to work on myself.’

However, Andrew countered, “On the flip side, I think if he really leans into like, ‘OK, sure, try that,’ and then goes really petty and is just not a great guy, I think those two stories are interesting to tell.”
Andrew described Reid as being “actually pretty soft and sweet and vulnerable.” He explained, “This is a girl that he was in love with for his entire life. And then he was the bigger man and put his pride aside.”
The actor also teased there could be “turmoil” in store for Lauren and Lucas in Season 2. While Lucas won her heart in Season 1, leaving Reid alone, he’s not so sure the relationship will last.
“I think there’s definitely going to be turmoil in their relationship just because of how Lauren is,” he explained. “I don’t think she understands how to communicate.”
He also pointed out how “it’s a kid relationship,” before adding, “And he’s choosing to do things that put his life on the back burner just to be with her. And that’s never a good place to be.”
Aside from the love triangle, Andrew would love to see the Collins family dynamic explored more in Season 2. He told us, “I think that we leave off in a really interesting place with Davis and Paula Jo and Reid’s always going to be smack dab in the middle of the two of them.”
The actor added, “I’d like to see a dysfunctional family that clearly loves each other deeply work it out. I’m interested in that relationship”
