For two nights only a Shreveport venue will be hosting The Queen’s Ball: A Bridgerton Experience.

Bridgerton, a Netflix television series based on historical romance, has been taking the United States by storm since its release date in 2020. And a Shreveport business owner decided to take full advantage of her venue to create a Regency era inspired event.

Nicole McGowan, owner of North Market Venue said, “we watched the show and there was just a lot of buzz going around the internet about the show itself and we host our own events at the venue and we’re always looking to do different things… we thought we could do that.”

The event is completely sold out and will take place Friday, Aug. 30 and Saturday, Aug. 31.

McGowan said, “I had no idea that it would be such a hit.”

Here’s what you need to know before you go

Attendees will be greeted with glowing chandeliers, romantic candles, lavish floral arrangements and a live string quartet.

The Queen’s Ball: A Bridgerton Experience is a multi-part evening some attendees purchased the 5-Course Dinner & Ball Ticket while others purchased the Society Member of the Ton which is just the ball.

The dinner experience begins at 6 p.m. and attendees can enjoy a five-course meal catered by Shaver’s Catering. McGowan said, “once we start the dinner, then the string quartet will play throughout the course of the dinner. We’ll have staff serving everyone each course.”

Following dinner attendees will enjoy a cocktail hour while staff turns over the venue to prepare for the ball. Attendees for just the ball will begin showing up around 7:30 p.m.

Once the ball begins attendees will get to take part in the Queen’s Presentation, where a diamond of the season will be selected by the Queen- McGowan.

Following the presentation modern instrumental music will continue to play and attendees can waltz and enjoy the never-ending flow of champagne. As the night continues a DJ will come out and perform classical renditions on modern music for everyone to enjoy.

McGowan said, “that way it’s fun for the guest but it’s still staying within character.”

Remaining within character means that attendees are encouraged to dress in Regency era attire. McGowan said, “we definitely don’t want to outshine the Queen. So hopefully, everyone’s coming in Daphne style or Eloise style dresses.”
