Butterbean is confident he’s in shape to return and has his eyes on the winner of Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul.

Eric Esch – more commonly known as Butterbean – is now 58 years old, but has made a remarkable transformation amid regular fight call-outs to Paul.

The ‘Problem Child’ will next face heavyweight royalty Tyson on November 15 in a surprise professional bout, which appears to have stirred up the juices to return again for Esch.

Last week, the iconic star Butterbean made a £1.5 million winner-takes-all offer to Paul for a showdown in 2025 after he faces Tyson.

Now in a bid to entice a response from the influencer, he has posted new footage of him crashing the pads.

It is his first on the mitts for several years, and he let his hands go with thunderous power in a bid to show he still has what it takes.

He captioned the video: “Getting ready for my next opponent. I hope you’re ready @Jake Paul @Netflix @Mike Tyson.”

It is unclear if Esch is genuinely close to returning, but he is clearly trying to keep in shape in case the opportunity presents itself.

The boxing veteran previously claimed he was offered a fight against Tyson which failed into materialise.

He has called out Paul since 2020 when the YouTube star made an appearance on the undercard of Tyson’s exhibition return with Roy Jones Jr.

‘Iron Mike’ himself suggested that he could fight again if he does defy the odds and beat Paul despite being way beyond his physical prime.

Esch has been training with Diamond Dallas Page and has lost to 200lbs after being forced to retire in 2013 having been barely able to walk.

But neither Tyson or Paul are yet to acknowledge the challenges and are focused on their upcoming clash.

Concerns have been raised over aged boxing veterans returning, including over Tyson who has had several health issues.

He too has been posting training footage in a bid to prove his fitness and desire to beat Paul.

And he has also lashed back at critics in a furious swipe after they questioned his age.

He said: “I’m 58 and what? I’m getting billions of views from just talking to somebody about fighting.

“Everybody, even most of the athletes, they’re jealous, that’s whack. I say in your prime you couldn’t draw a million people, man.

“What are you talking, you couldn’t sell out arena. Who at 58 could sell out an 80,000-seat arena?

“Why you think he wants to fight me and not anybody else? Everybody wants to fight him, all the boxers want to fight him.

“But if he fought them the only people that will come are the people that like him. The other guys, their parents might not even come watch them.

“That’s just keeping it real. They’re too boring for their children to watch, it’s like watching grass grow.”
