Fans can visit where Anthony and Kate shared their first kiss or Daphne threw a knock-out punch
Lady Whistledown has a hit on her hands: The love of Netflix’s period drama series Bridgerton is only growing stronger.
The release of season 3 — which spotlights the whimsical love story of Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) — marked the show’s best weekend opening with over 45 million views worldwide, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
While the Regency-era costumes and passionate love scenes contribute to the success of Shonda Rhimes’ created series, the lavish wisteria-filled sets of the Bridgerton universe are undoubtedly a major part of the show’s romantic mystique as well.
To bring the magical world of Julia Quinn’s books to life, Bridgerton’s production crew filmed all across the United Kingdom — from real Tudor-era mansions and courtyards in the countryside to iconic museums and historic churches in the heart of London.
So where is Bridgerton filmed? Here’s everything to know about the show’s filming locations and how to visit.
Royal Crescent
NETFLIX
Location: Bath, England
Despite the show being about London’s high society, the production team used the row of terrace houses composing the famed Royal Crescent to depict the exterior of the Featherington household.
The 500-foot-long stretch of 18th-century Georgian homes can be found in Bath — about a three-hour drive from London’s city center.
Visitors can admire one of Bath’s most iconic landmarks while enjoying the area’s neighboring Royal Victoria Park or The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa. There is also a museum for guests to tour one of the homes and learn more about the Royal Crescent’s architecture and history.
Hatfield House
NETFLIX
Location: Hertfordshire, England
While the exterior of the Featheringtons’ home is in Bath, the interior has been frequently shot three hours away in a heritage property called Hatfield House in the county of Hertfordshire.
It’s also been reported that Hatfield, a 17th-century Jacobean property once home to the first Earl of Salisbury, was used for various scenes of the inside of the Bridgerton estate in season 2. Movie fans may also recognize the property for appearing in films like Sleepy Hollow (1999), V for Vendetta (2005), The King’s Speech (2010) andThe Favourite (2018).
The grounds are now open to visitors, who can explore the estate’s garden, stable yard, nearby nature paths and accompanying restaurant.
Lancaster House
Location: London, England
Bridgerton fans remember seeing the luxe interior of Lancaster House — a property near Buckingham Palace commissioned in 1825 by the then Duke of York and later becoming the home of the first Duke of Sutherland — featured prominently in season 2 scenes between Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran) and Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) in Her Majesty’s residence.
The building now belongs to the British government and is used for various events. Lancaster House has also appeared in The King’s Speech, The Crown (2016-2023), National Treasure: Book of Secrets (2007) and more.
Reform Club
NETFLIX
Location: London, England
Within walking distance of Buckingham Palace is the Reform Club, one of the most prestigious members-only social clubs in London — but more commonly known to viewers as the place where Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and the Duke of Hastings (Regé Jean-Page) had a memorable heart-to-heart in season 1.
The Club was founded in 1836 as a political center for the Whigs and Radicals and later became a nonpolitical meeting place boasting Italian Renaissance architecture and a robust art collection. The Reform Club is not usually open to visitors, except for organized groups during the week, but will occasionally grant access to the public.
St. James Church
NETFLIX
Location: London, England
It’s impossible to forget the dramatic wedding scene between Anthony and Edwina that resulted in family tension and the steamy kiss Lord Bridgerton shared with his eventual bride, Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley).
The climatic sequence took place in St. James Church in Piccadilly, built by Sir Christopher Wren and consecrated in 1684. Today, the Church of England congregation describes the St. James community as a “welcoming and inclusive” place for worship, where visitors may join in prayer or get involved in various services and programs around the arts, social justice and spiritual life.
The Holburne Museum
NETFLIX
Location: Bath, England
One look at The Holburne Museum and it’s easy to see that Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh)’s digs are unmatched.
The iconic museum attracts many thanks to its various exhibits and extensive art collection of roughly 9,000 objects belonging to Sir William Holbourne, the fifth baronet of Menstrie. Visitors can stop by every day except Sunday to observe paintings and sculptures, plus attend events.
The Abbey Deli
Location: Bath, England
Viewers who have pictured themselves trying on lavish ball gowns in Madame Delacroix (Kathryn Drysdale)’s Modiste shop can make part of that fantasy come true when visiting The Abbey Deli.
The eatery, which served as the backdrop of the dress shop, is located a few steps away from the Bath Abbey church. The business proudly boasts its role in the hit Netflix series, even adding a Modiste afternoon tea experience to its menu for guests.
Castle Howard
NETFLIX
Location: York, England
Castle Howard, an estate that took over 100 years to complete, served numerous filming purposes in season 1 of Bridgerton.
Most memorably, Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) knocked out Nigel Berbrooke (Jamie Beamish) with a punch in the Walled Garden area of the 18th-century castle grounds in one scene.
In another, Daphne and the Duke enjoyed intimate moments in Castle Howard’s Archbishop’s bedroom, where real guests are hosted today.
The castle grounds are also home to monuments, statues and temples, including The Temple of the Four Winds, where the Duke and Duchess take shelter when a heavy downpour disrupts their evening walk.
Hampton Court Palace
NETFLIX
Location: London, England
In season 3 episode 4, Hampton Court Palace shines front and center as the venue for Queen Charlotte’s ball. The Privy Garden on the grounds is also a focal point in season 2 outdoor moments between the Sharma sisters.
Finally, the Master Carpenter’s Court area has been used as the printing shop where Lady Whistledown’s pamphlets are created.
The historical home was home to Henry VIII before becoming the palace of William III and Mary II. Visitors are welcome to walk through these areas of the Tudor home and attend public summer concerts in the grand courtyard.
Ranger’s House
NETFLIX
Location: London, England
Fans who fantasize about living at the Bridgerton household will want to take a picture in front of Ranger’s House, where many of the exterior home shots of the family estate have been captured.
Ranger’s House guests can admire the red-brick Georgian home featured in several scenes and venture inside to see 19th-century businessman Sir Julius Wernher’s vast art collection, consisting of over 700 works of Renaissance art, medieval sculptures and jewelry pieces.
Kingston Bagpuize House
NETFLIX
Location: Oxfordshire, England
Remember how shocked Will (Martin Imhangbe) and Alice Mondrich (Emma Naomi) were when they stepped out of their carriage in season 3 to see the home they would be living in after their son Nicky (James Bryan) unexpectedly inherited the Baron of Ken title?
Fans may have the same reaction when they visit Kingston Bagpuize House, where the fictional family’s life changed forever.
Apart from the exterior, viewers will particularly remember seeing glimpses of the Entrance Hall, Drawing Room and Pink Bedroom if they venture inside the manor.
The Kingston Bagpuize House — with a history that dates back to the 11th century — and accompanying garden are open to the public on select Sundays and Mondays throughout the year.
Wilton House
NETFLIX
Location: Wiltshire, England
Debutantes can be declared the season’s diamond or cast aside in the halls of Wilton House, which has served in the series as Queen Charlotte’s presentation room, among other things.
According to House Beautiful, the 16th-century home, which is owned today by the 18th Earl and Countess of Pembroke and built on land granted by Henry VIII, is also where various bedroom, parlor and garden party scenes with Her Majesty have been captured.
The outlet also reports that the residence’s interior was used to depict Lady Danbury’s library. Those hoping to visit can purchase tickets upon arrival before exploring different parts of the house and grounds.
Windsor Great Park
NETFLIX
Location: Berkshire, England
The love between Anthony and Kate began with a thrilling chase on horses through a lush forest in Windsor Great Park.
The woodland area — which is part of the greater Windsor Estate and leads straight to Windsor Castle — also features golf courses, farms and the famed Ascot Racecourse.
Visitors who go to the 4,800-acre park (which is free to access) aren’t merely seeing a film set — they will be experiencing a historical, royal site that dates back thousands of years.
Grimsthorpe Castle
NETFLIX
Location: Lincolnshire, England
A new member of the Ton, inventor Lord Hawkins (Deepak Verma) hosted an extravagant ball in season 3 in the real-life Grimsthorpe Castle at Vanbrugh Hall.
To create the grandeur of the space, a fake floor was installed in the hall to protect the original stone flooring. When the space is not used to film ballroom scenes, the Grimsthorpe castle, with parts that date back to the 12th century, is open to guests to explore.
Step inside to see the castle’s collection of tapestries, ceramics and paintings made for British royalty or venture outside to admire the nearby gardens and park.
Wrotham Park
NETFLIX
Location: Hertfordshire, England
Perhaps no filming location shines brighter in season 2 than Wrotham Park, also known as Aubrey Hall, the Bridgertons’ country home, where Anthony and Kate’s romance grows deeper, thanks to an intense game of pall-mall played on the grounds.
The mansion, constructed in 1754, sits upon a 2,500-acre estate and is now owned by Robert Byng, a relative of the famous Admiral John Byng. Unfortunately, the Palladian home is not open to the general public.
Blenheim Palace
NETFLIX
Location: Oxfordshire, England
While glimpses of Blenheim Palace, particularly the Great Court and Water Terraces, are most prominently highlighted in the spinoff series Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, the 18th-century country house also appears as Queen Charlotte’s residence in season 3 of Bridgerton.
The palace was designed by English architects John Vanbrugh and Nicholas Hawksmoor and was built to honor John Churchill, the first Duke of Marlborough. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage site open to visitors to explore the palace’s state rooms, Churchill exhibition, Sir Winston Churchill’s birth room, garden area and more.
Halton House
NETFLIX
Location: Buckinghamshire, England
What do the wedding reception of Daphne and Simon in season 1 and the makeshift dance scene involving Lady Danbury, Lady Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell), the Sharma sisters and Bridgerton children from season 2 have in common?
Both were filmed in Halton House, as were a few more miscellaneous moments capturing the Sharmas’ accommodations at Aubrey Hall and interior shots of the Bridgerton household, according to Elle Decor.
The French Renaissance-inspired home was built for Alfred de Rothschild, who hosted regal guests, including King Edward VII and Lily Langtree, during the late 19th century. The house later became an important army base during World War I and is currently a base for the Royal Air Force today.
Osterley Park and House
NETFLIX
Location: London, England
The iconic Full Moon ball of season 3 takes place at Osterley Park and House, a Tudor mansion built in the 1570s and later owned by wealthy banker Sir Francis Child in 1713.
Over the years, the house became more grand and evolved into a gathering place full of world-class art and luxurious space for parties and entertainment.
The Bridgerton cast and crew are hardly the first to shoot at Osterley — films like An Alligator Named Daisy (1955), Vanity Fair (2004) and The Dark Knight Rises (2012), plus the Netflix series The Crown have all been shot on the premises as well.
Old Royal Naval College
NETFLIX
Location: Greenwich, England
Lady Whistledown’s pamphlets are flying out of the hands of paperboys all around the Old Royal Naval College, a UNESCO world heritage estate designed by Sir Christopher Wren that once served as a hospital before becoming a top naval training college in Europe in the late 19th century.
After closing as a training ground in 1997, it became a full-time visitor attraction and is still a popular U.K. tourist spot.
Bridgerton fans can spot the Old Royal Naval College mostly throughout season 2, like when a paperboy scurries across the grounds to deliver the latest gossip from Lady Whistledown in the first episode.
Later in the same episode, a different part of the grounds served as the background of a conversation between Penelope and Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) in the marketplace. The College was also spotted in episodes 7 and 8 when members of the Ton strolled through the Grand Square and surrounding areas.
Painshill Park
NETFLIX
Location: Surrey, England
The 18th-century landscaped garden has been the site of many afternoon park scenes in Bridgerton, including moments involving Daphne and Simon)’s courtship on the Five Arch Bridge in season 1. Painshill Park was also the location where a hot air balloon almost injured Penelope in season 3.
The grounds are open to the public to soak in the picturesque scenery and learn more about the park that architectural historian Nikolaus Pevsner once described as Britain’s “greatest contribution to the visual arts,” according to the park’s website.
