Laugh Now, Cry Later’ – Jake Paul Pokes Fun at Mike Tyson’s Might with Playful ‘Pad Footage’ Teaser Ahead of Bout
Jake Paul has trolled Mike Tyson’s powerful training footage, with a comical take of his own.
The YouTube star will take on heavyweight icon Tyson on July 20 in a professional bout despite their 31-year age gap and significant deficit in experience.
His boxing veteran opponent has been posting regular training clips from his camp showing off his trademark power, which he still possesses in short bursts despite his age.
Paul has reacted with fear to previous posts, but has now decided to make his own comical take with his own pad man.
The ‘Problem Child’ tapped the pads extremely lightly at a very slow tempo in an attempt to mock Tyson, while replicating the noise the legend made when landing every shot.
It attracted lots of attention on social media, with fans amused by his comical jibe at the champion.
One fan wrote: “Laugh now cry later!”
A fan also joked: “What no one knows is, that is his real workout.”
One claimed: “This is funny but Mike will have the last laugh though!”
A final fan concluded: “Poking the bear is only going to get you bit.”
Tyson possessed dynamite power in his professional career, carrying an 88 per cent KO ratio.
It is clear he still possesses his style, but of course it is expected he won’t be able to keep up for a sustained period, with his punch resistance also in question.
The legend has received several medical warnings from doctors, who are concerned for his physical health.
Fears have raised further given KOs are now allowed with the fight to land on both fighters’ records.
But Paul insisted it was Tyson who initiated contact over making the fight under authentic rules.
“I just want to make it clear that Mike Tyson is the one who wanted it to be a professional fight,” he said on his podcast.
“I said to Nakisa [Bidarian – MVP co-founder], if that is what Mike wants that is fine, but make sure you tell Mike there is no holding back.
“Whatever happens now happens and this is war now.
“If he puts me down I can deal with that, but if I put him down, he needs to be the one making the decision on whether or not he can deal with it.
“I’m going in there now its a pro fight and its on my professional record and I’m going to f***ing put him down.
“If people are p***ed about it, then go and watch soccer.”
