Tyson was forced to pull out of his fight against Paul this summer after recently suffering a health scare and has set a new date for the controversial bout
Mike Tyson has demanded his rescheduled Jake Paul fight takes place between October and December.
Heavyweight icon Tyson and influencer-turned-boxer Paul were scheduled to fight this summer at the Dallas Cowboys stadium in Texas. The fight has now been delayed until further notice after Tyson was deemed medically unfit to fight following an ulcer flare up he suffered whilst onboard a flight last week.
Paul confirmed Tyson’s new date demand whilst breaking his silence on the fight cancellation. “Obviously, devastating news. I’m heartbroken, speechless, gutted. You [Tyson] said you wanna do this in Q4, I’m ready, you just need a little bit of time, so I’m ready whenever you are,” he said.

“This is too big of an opportunity and I think this fight is going to change the world and I turn all my Ls into Ws and that’s a motto I live by. We’ve been working so hard over here in this camp. I just feel bad for everyone involved in this event, the undercard. The opportunity has been ripped from all of us.”
Tyson will have to pass brain and heart scans to be eligible to compete because of his age. The former heavyweight champion was set to celebrate his 58th birthday just weeks before the ill-fated fight date. Paul showed his class by adding: “I do value Mike’s health first and foremost, love that guy. I have so much respect for him and I want Mike to be healthy.”
Paul has been subject to huge criticism for agreeing to fight Tyson decades past his prime. ‘Iron Mike’ hasn’t competed in a professional fight since retiring on his stool against journeyman Kevin McBride two decades ago, but insisted he is feeling good despite his recent health scare.
“My body is in better overall shape than it has been since the 1990s and I will be back to my full training schedule soon. Jake Paul, this may have bought you some time, but in the end you will still be knocked out and out of boxing for good. I appreciate everyone’s patience and can’t wait to deliver an unforgettable performance,” he said.
