Jake Paul stopped Perry in the sixth round of their July 20 fight

Nico Ali Walsh
Muhammad Ali‘s grandson sent a devastating warning to Jake Paul after the 27-year-old stopped Mike Perry on Saturday, July 20 at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida with a sixth-round knockout.

It was a dominant display from the YouTuber-turned-boxer as he took on his latest UFC fighter, knocking him to the canvas three times in total before the referee finally decided to stop the fight with a round and half to go.

However, there are questions against the level of opponents again as he continues to take on MMA fighters, who are not experts in boxing and don’t exclusively train for it. That left Nico Ali Walsh, grandson of the legendary boxer, Ali, to suggest it will cause Paul’s development to stall.

“This dude is not gonna get any better fighting these opponents,” Ali Walsh posted to X.com, formerly Twitter, at the end of the bout.

Fellow boxers react to Paul vs Perry

Perry had left himself exposed throughout the fight as he failed to provide much of a defense or utilize tactics such as the clinch to disrupt momentum and break up the flow Paul would find himself in essentially from the get-go.

And whilst he did get some licks in as Paul gassed out, it simply was not enough to make an impression on the fight or audiences, who continued to rip into him including some high profile names.

“If anything,” Mikaela Mayer, ex-unified super-featherweight champion, posted to X.com. “Jake Paul has solidified the fact that although MMA fighters train boxing, they do not truly know boxing.”

Whilst Claressa Shields said, “Lord Mike Perry looking like A damn punching bag , what exactly was the game plan.”

However, Paul did get some love from Ebanie Edwards as she posted, “Jake Paul‘s looking great! Great set ups and discipline.”
