It’s now been over a month since the first season of Ransom Canyon premiered in its entirety on Netflix. The series spent the better part of the last month in the Netflix top 10, but fans have still not been gifted the Season 2 renewal that they’ve been waiting for. Enough time has now passed that Ransom Canyon has slipped out of the Netflix top 10. Despite cast members giving updates on what they’d like to see in a second season, Netflix has stayed eerily quiet on the Ransom Canyon renewal front. The show, which has been dubbed as Netflix’s version of Yellowstone, is a romance-fueled family drama following three intersecting ranching families. It’s set against the sweeping tundras and beautiful landscapes of Texas Hill Country.

Starring in the lead role of Staten Kirkland in Ransom Canyon is Josh Duhamel. Duhamel is also known for his role as Lennox in Michael Bay’s Transformers franchise, where he appeared in four movies between 2007 and 2017. Minka Kelly stars alongside Duhamel as Quinn O’Grady, and she’s best known for her roles in Just Go with It (Adam Sandler) and 500 Days of Summer (Joseph Gordon-Levitt). Eoin Macken can also be seen as David Collins in Netflix’s hit Western series, and he most recently starred in La Brea and Borderline. James Brolin, father of legendary Thanos actor Josh Brolin, also stars in Ransom Canyon as Cap Fuller. Lizzy Greene, Garrett Wareing, Marianly Tejada, and Jack Schumacher also feature in Ransom Canyon. The show was written and created for television by April Blair, and it’s based on the popular novel by Jodi Thomas.

What’s Streaming on Netflix Right Now?

Ransom Canyon has been replaced in the Netflix top 10 by other series like Secrets We Keep, which debuted with a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. However, general audiences are not as high on the series. The latest season in Tim Miller’s anthology series, Love, Death & Robots, also hit Netflix last week, and while it did manage to make it into the top 10, it couldn’t ride its perfect Rotten Tomatoes score higher than the #7 spot. Judy Blume’s new show, Forever, and Tina Fey’s comedy series, The Four Seasons, are also in the Netflix top 10.

All episodes of Ransom Canyon are now streaming on Netflix, but the show has not yet been renewed for Season 2. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of the series.
