With the period drama set in Italy, there is no lack of lavish sets and costumes, but The Law According to Lidia Poët also had some unique filming locations too, mainly set in Italy, prompting audiences to wonder where it was all filmed.

The six-episode drama follows Lidia Poët and her struggle to practice law in a world that will not accept a female lawyer. Luckily she finds shelter with her brother, Enrico Poët, a lawyer, who gives her everything she needs to practice law. Lidia follows her passion, helping underprivileged clients find justice.

Piedmont

The series is set in Piedmont, so it makes sense that much of the show was filmed on location.

Piedmont is a region of Northwest Italy, one of the 20 regions of the country. A quick look at Wikipedia shows that it borders the Liguria region to the south, the Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna regions to the east, and the Aosta Valley region to the northwest; it also borders Switzerland to the northeast and France to the west.

Turin

Turin is the capital city of Piedmont, and as much of the story is set there, the production team decided to film most of the pivotal scenes there too.

Primary locations include the Curia Maxima in Via Corte d’Appelloa, which doubles as the Turin courthouse. The location filming for the outside shots of the Villa Barberis was recorded at Piazza Cavour in Turin.

Other locations that were used included Palazzo Falletti di Barolo at Via Corte d’Appello, 20/C, Museo Carceri Le Nuove at Via Paoo Borsellino, 3, Piazza Carignano, Teatro Regio at P.za Castello, 215, Basilica of Superga at Strada Basilica di Superga, 73, and Borgo Cornalese just outside of Villastellone.

Rome

From what we can gather from other posts, it seems that the production team would travel to Rome to do some filming, particularly scenes of Lidia’s family home.
