Everything we know about Off Campus season two

I can’t describe how happy I am that I’m not the only one completely obsessed with the teen hockey universe of Off Campus. In theory, this was the kind of show I could have watched over a weekend and then moved on with my life. In practice, I ended up deeply researching every book by author Elle Kennedy, analyzing who the next couple might be, and, along with the entire TikTok community, taking the emotional lives of students at the fictional Briar U way too seriously. The series, which follows four hockey players, all of them very much written by a woman, and their love interests, became my new obsession ahead of a summer without The Summer I Turned Pretty.

Prime Video renewed the series for a second season before the first one had even premiered, which says enough about the fandom that already exists around Elle Kennedy’s books. The Deal is only the first part of the wider Briar University universe, so season two will open the door to a new couple and probably a completely different emotional roller coaster.

Which couple will be at the center of season two?

The day we all binge-watched the entire season, which somehow felt like it lasted all of five minutes, speculation immediately started about who could take center stage in the next season. Although nothing is set in stone yet, everything currently points to Dean Di Laurentis and Allie Hayes, played by Stephen Kalyn and Mika Abdalla, becoming the main couple. However, that would mean the series is skipping the chronological order of the books. The second novel, The Mistake, follows Logan and Grace, while Dean and Allie only become the central couple in the third book, The Score.

Dean and Allie’s relationship was introduced much earlier than it was in the books, which immediately made fans feel like it was a sign of the direction the series wanted to take. Ella Bright recently reacted to a question about whether Dean and Allie are next by smiling and nodding, which fans interpreted as a pretty clear hint. Showrunner Louisa Levy explained that she wanted audiences to meet the characters they would grow attached to in future seasons as early as season one, and that Dean and Allie were the best pair for that approach because their story in the books begins as a secret relationship, allowing the series to play with timing, tension, and the gradual reveal of their romance.

What does that mean for Logan and Grace?

If season two really follows Dean and Allie, that means the series will not strictly follow the order of the books. That does not mean Logan and Grace have been written out of the story. On the contrary, India Fowler has already been announced as Grace Ivers, which opens the possibility of her relationship with Logan, played by Antonio Cipriano, being introduced alongside the main storyline or set up for one of the future seasons.

Who will we be watching in season two?

Alongside the return of familiar characters, season two is also bringing new faces. In addition to India Fowler joining the series as Grace Ivers, Logan’s love interest, the show is also welcoming Phillipa Soo, best known for her theater work and the musical Hamilton, as Scarlett, an artist connected to the university’s drama department.

One important character from season one, however, will not be part of the next chapter. Josh Heuston, who plays Justin Kohl, will not return for season two due to scheduling conflicts. Louisa Levy confirmed that Justin is not planned for the next season, but also said the door remains open for his return in the future, especially since the books introduce Stella, a character tied to the continuation of his story.

What can we expect from season two and when is it coming out?

If season two really follows The Score, Off Campus will move into more emotionally mature and complicated territory. Even for those of us who haven’t read the books, the first season made this story feel like it has the potential to be less fairy-tale-like compared to The Deal, with more emotional chaos and impulsiveness. In the finale, we also see Hunter Davenport, whom we were first introduced to as Carter St. James, further complicating things and opening the door for a love triangle, which feels to me like a very intentional move to have season two begin with bad timing and all the unspoken feelings these kinds of series thrive on. If you ask me, all of that only means season two could end up being even more interesting than the first.

An official premiere date has not yet been announced, but season two is expected sometime in 2027, most likely in the middle of the year. For now, what we do know for certain is that all eight scripts for the second season have already been written and that production is expected to begin this summer.
