After Bridgerton star Hannah Dodd shared she was reading A Court of Thorns and Roses, fans proposed she play Feyre in the ACOTAR TV show.
The Bridgerton world is colliding with another booktok universe.
After Hannah Dodd—who plays Francesca Bridgerton on the hit Netflix series—shared that she finished reading Sarah J. Maas‘ A Court of Thorns and Roses, fans of the fantasy romance novel expressed their hopes that she might play the series’ lead character in its TV adaptation, which has been in development since March 2021.
And it seems Hannah wouldn’t be opposed.
“Help, I’m in love with a fictional character,” Hannah wrote in a July 15 Instagram Story. “Hannah Feyre Katie Dodd is what I will respond to now.”
Naturally, ACOTAR fans were quick to draw a connection between the likeness of the 29-year-old and the series’ protagonist Feyre Archeron, a mortal-turned-faerie who’s known for her incredible power and rebellious personality.
“I think I just found the perfect Feyre!?!” one user wrote in a July 16 TikTok video that featured photos of the actress, while another commented under her clip, “OMG YES!!! She’s so stunning!!!”
Others were convinced Hannah would be better fit for the role of Elain Archeron, Feyre’s soft-spoken older sister.
“No this is literally elain!” one user argued. “Looking at some of her pictures compared to fan art of Elain, it’s literally her!”
Another added, “She is definitely more elain coded.”
However, some fans don’t want the forthcoming series—written by Maas and Outlander creator Ronald D. Moore—to be live action at all.
“It should only be animated,” one user insisted, “and I will die on this hill.”
Of course, only time will tell which of these predictions will be correct. After all , the show—set to premiere on Hulu—was still in the story-building stage as of February.
“That show has been in development,” Hulu chief Craig Erwich told reporters at the Television Critics Association at the time, per Variety, “but I don’t have any news to share today.”
While you wait patiently for A Court of Thorns and Roses to hit TV screens, catch up on all the shows that premiered this year.
