House of the Dragon is without a doubt the Targaryen show with a large cast of interesting white-haired people, including Daemon Targaryen, who is George R. R. Martin’s favorite. That said, the series doesn’t include another very interesting figure due to him simply not being born yet. That is of course Brynden Rivers aka BloodravenHouse of the Dragon doesn’t exactly exclude him either, though.

Actor, director and dancer Joshua Ben-Tovim will appear in the finale of House of the Dragon this week as Brynden Rivers aka Bloodraven in a vision sequence, sitting on his weirwood seat aq the Three-Eyed Raven, but we won’t give too much detail at this time.

The Three-Eyed Raven was a character in the original Game of Thrones series played by Struan Rodger and then the late Max von Sydow, but the series never explicitly acknowledged that this character was indeed intended to be Brynden Rivers. It seems now House of the Dragon is fixing that.

Rivers was born several decades after the events of House of the Dragon and was a colorful figure in the history of Westeros, being the bastard son of Aegon IV and later Hand of the King and Master of Whisperers to Aerys I, as well as many other things that he did in his life. Needless to say, he would be a fan-favorite, should HBO bring him to life as a fully fleshed character in one of its projects.

It is not yet clear whether this is a one-off appearance or will Ben-Tovim reprise this role further down the line in future seasons of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Only time will tell.

House of the Dragon has been renewed for Season 3 and is currently being written for a production at a later date. Meanwhile, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is filming in Northern Ireland for a 2025 release. Stay tuned for more news!
