‘Adorable’ must-watch Netflix film dubbed as ‘Mrs Doubtfire at Christmas’
Netflix fans have branded a new festive film as the “best Christmas movie of this year”.
A festive film that’s been dubbed as “Mrs Doubtfire at Christmas” and scored a perfect “10 out of 10” is receiving a flurry of glowing reviews. Netflix has released a host of classic Christmas films this year, including The Holiday and the late Diane Keaton’s The Family Stone, but it’s also introduced some fresh offerings.
First came Champagne Problems featuring Ransom Canyon star Minka Kelly, followed by Sex Education actor Connor Swindells’ Jingle Bell Heist. However, the new Christmas film that’s soared straight to the top spot on Netflix’s most-watched list is My Secret Santa, starring Virgin River’s Alexandra Breckenridge.
After losing her job, desperate single mum Taylor (portrayed by Alexandra Breckenridge) resorts to disguising herself as an elderly man to secure a job as a ski resort’s Santa Claus.

But Taylor’s situation becomes complicated when she begins to fall for the resort owner’s son Matthew Layne, played by New Amsterdam and 90210 actor Ryan Eggold. Fans of Netflix have been flocking to X, formerly known as Twitter, and My Secret Santa’s IMDb page to heap praise on the new festive film.
One fan, declaring it the “best Christmas movie this year”, explained: “In a year where most of the Hallmark movies have been disappointments. “This movie is fresh, well acted, has great casting and wonderful music.
“I will watch this movie over and over. Alexandra was awesome. This movie made me so happy.” A second viewer called it a “must watch” on Netflix whilst a third commented: “I’m a sucker for a cheesy Netflix Christmas rom com, and Jingle Bell Heist and My Secret Santa are easily the best and cutest ones I’ve watched this year.”

Another enthusiast gushed: “My Secret Santa is a 10/10 loved it so much!” whilst someone else shared: “Ok Netflix’s My Secret Santa is ADORABLE, I didn’t think I enjoyed this much but I did.” Additional fans dubbed it “hilarious” and “incredible” with some watchers comparing it to “Mrs Doubtfire at Christmas” due to Breckenridge’s Santa disguise.
“AB (Alexandra Breckenridge) is a gem in all of her roles, but she was truly believable as Santa!”, one admirer penned. Meanwhile, another viewer urged: “Don’t miss My Secret Santa, a charming holiday romcom perfect for rewatching!”
