Everyone had some odd childhood hobby growing up, but Jenna Ortega might have us beat because hers is something right out of the Wednesday Addams playbook.

Some people were just born to play a certain role, like Margot Robbie in Barbie. The same could be said of Robert Downey Jr, who IS Tony Stark, Henry Cavill as Geralt in The Witcher, Tom Holland as Peter Parker, and Meryl Streep in literally anything.

We have long known that Jenna Ortega had a childhood fascination with the iconic character she would later play, but her childhood hobby basically proves that she is, in fact, the real Wednesday Addams.

Back when Jenna was doing the press rounds for Wednesday season one, Wired asked about her friendship with Dance Moms star Maddie Ziegler.

“She’s one of my greatest friends ever,” she said. “Maddie and I are the same person in different fonts. She’s such a weirdo, and I’m a weirdo.”

To prove just how much of a weirdo she was, Jenna Ortega exposed her favourite childhood hobby: Cutting up dead animals.

She recalled doing “autopsies on little animals when I was younger”, specifically “little lizards that I found that were dead in my backyard.”

If that’s not Wednesday Addams, I don’t know what is, but she went on to point out that Maddie did not share her medical inclination as a kid. Maddie’s weirdness was more like “making faces” and breaking into character at random moments.

“Her comedic timing is so under-appreciated,” she added. “She makes me laugh. We have a good time. We’re really weird together.”

Reacting to the unprovoked admission, one person wrote: “Not something I would ever admit to, but to be fair there is a big difference between actually killing the animal to do a little autopsy on it and just finding a dead one and doing it.”

Another person, who we should probably check in on, added: “Maybe I’m weird, but this isn’t weird to me… it sounds like something some little kids have done and still do.”
