Shortly after announcing the star-studded tracklist for his upcoming album âMissionary,â Snoop Dogg has given a bit of insight into how a few of the standout records will sound.
On Friday, the rapper was on hand in New York Cityâs Times Square to give a surprise performance to launch âFortniteâ Chapter 2 remix, which features contributions from Snoop, Ice Spice, Eminem and the late Juice WRLDâs estate. During an interview shortly after he wrapped the performance, Snoop shared that he anticipated two of the albumâs tracks â âLast Dance With Mary Janeâ featuring Jelly Roll and Tom Petty, and âGunz n Smokeâ featuring 50 Cent and Eminem â may potentially be featured in the new âFortniteâ rollout.
âWell, Tom Petty is a weed song, so I donât know if theyâre going to let that one in,â he told Variety. âBut the 50 Cent Eminem song is a real street record that sounds like itâs supposed to be in this game with all the different things that Iâm seeing. Especially in my maps, so it fits perfectly with the things Iâm doing.â
Snoop also acknowledged that Eminem is included in the new âFortniteâ campaign and looks forward to aligning with his longtime associate whenever possible. âThatâs Slim Shady, thatâs my guy! Thatâs my Libra gang partner,â he continued. âSo we like to do as many things we can do together, we like to do because weâre family. So I was glad to see he was part of this as well.â
Outside of his âFortniteâ activation, Snoop revealed that heâs currently working on a movie inspired by his love for âPlanet of the Apesâ â with a twist, of course. âI canât really give up the storyline, but Iâm going to [share] the idea,â he said. âI love âPlanet of the Apes.â âPlanet of the Apesâ made me wait too long to see the next one. So Iâm going to do something in that vein, where you donât have to wait. But just imagine it was dogs instead of apes.â
Snoop is currently prepping the release of âMissionary,â slated for release on Dec. 13. Yesterday, he revealed the projectâs tracklist with features including Method Man, Sting, BJ the Chicago Kid, Smitty and more, as well as JhenĂ© Aiko on the freshly released single âGorgeous.â
