The Harry Potter scene that made Emma Watson fall down a flight of stairs.

Harry Potter is undoubtedly one of the best books ever to be written and the best fantasy movies ever to have been made. Everything from the visuals to the storyline, the production beautifully captured the very essence of the books and literally brought magic to the big screen. While it was JK Rowling and her touch that ultimately made the movies successful, it was also the persistence and determination of the young cast members that made the movies a beloved part of cinema today.

One vital scene from the fourth movie, in particular, turned out to be more painful than one could have imagined for Emma Watson. Coincidentally it was also the scene that left Harry and Ron stoked by Hermoine’s elegance.
One Beautiful Harry Potter Scene Was Too Painful for Emma Watson

The whole Harry Potter films contain several breathtaking and striking scenes. Although the movies are often a point of contention among fans for not including or altering certain scenes from the books, they nonetheless have done the best possible. One such scene that the movies masterfully adapted from the books is Hermoine walking down the stairs to Victor Krum during the Yule Ball in Harry Potter: And The Goblet of Fire.
As beautiful as Hermoine looked in the scene, it was excruciating for Emma Watson to film it. Since she was supposed to magically turn into this young elegant lady, it was important for her to get the walk down the stairs absolutely perfect. The result of this was the director, Mike Newell pestering the young actress to get it done right, as Emma Watson revealed in Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts reunion.
Mike Newell coached me to walk down the stairs in the dress. ‘Your arms are swinging too much. You’re walking too quickly. You need to walk slower.’ Like, he’s giving me a million different directions about how to walk down the stairs. And, of course, I fell down the stairs.
With so many instructions to take care of and her wearing a long dress and heels, it was but inevitable that a mishap like this took place. Fortunately unhurt, Watson ultimately did nail the scene, shocking Daniel Radcliffe’s Harry Potter and Rupert Grint’s Ron Weasley with her elegance.
Emma Watson Left Daniel Radcliffe & Rupert Grint Shocked With Her Elegance

Among the most beautiful and vital scenes of the whole wizard saga, the events leading to the Yule Ball are symbolic of the characters coming of age and ascending to the insecure teenage years from their carefree childhood days. And the whole walking down the stairs scene of Hermoine was integral for the Golden Trio in the sense that it was pretty much the first time that Daniel Radcliffe‘s Harry Potter and Rupert Grint‘s Ron Weasley saw Hermoine as a young woman.
While Potter pretty much had always treated Hermoine as a younger sister, it was important for Ron to witness the scene since he would eventually end up with her. In the reunion film, Emma Watson stated how the importance of the scene further added to her woes while filming.
I think for the first time Harry and Ron, particularly Ron, see Hermione as a young woman, not just this kind of sidekick they each have. I knew it was a big deal, and I was miserable. I just knew it was the, like, ‘duckling becomes the swan’ moment. I knew there was just, like, all this pressure suddenly.
Watching Hermoine with someone else creates confusion for Ron, who goes through a series of emotions coming to terms with his affection for his best friend. While they fight and later end up with each other later on, this one scene signals the start of their eventual relationship.
Although it is unfortunate how troubled Emma Watson was during the shoot, the scene now has become a favorite of many.
