Deadpool & Wolverine Cyclops return theories gain new fuel after an exciting photo emerges. Several members of Deadpool & Wolverine‘s cast are being kept a secret, as the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie is set to feature many cameos that have yet to be revealed. Some possible actor returns have been rumored over the past couple of years, with James Marsden coming back as Cyclops from Fox’s X-Men movies being one of the biggest rumored cameos. Now, a new photo has fans even more hopeful for Cyclops to appear.
During Deadpool & Wolverine‘s press world tour (via @austin_medz/Twitter), Ryan Reynolds was spotted wearing Cyclops’ visor, which reignited fans’ hopes that the X-Men character would appear in the MCU movie.
Since the film will include multiple variants of Deadpool and Wolverine, it is possible that one of those characters could lead to a new version of the X-Men from Fox’s movies, with Marsden returning as a Cyclops variant. Fans also theorize that Deadpool & Wolverine‘s story could include a trip to the original X-Men movie timeline, which could then see Marsden reprise his version of Cyclops.

The Actor Has Been Absent From Superhero Movies For A Long Time
While Marsden has not confirmed that he will appear as Cyclops in Deadpool & Wolverine, the actor has made some interesting comments. In 2022, when the rumors first started to surface, Marsden commented on his chances of coming back as Cyclops. According to the actor, due to his love for the X-Men franchise, he “would always be open to that, revisiting that world.”
Last March, Marsden talked about his Deadpool & Wolverine return rumors once again, this time revealing an interesting piece of info. According to the actor, he was filming Sonic 3 “near the Deadpool stages up there in Pinewood [Studios].” He also compared the rumors to Pandora’s box, not giving a clear answer regarding being in it or not. With Marsden revealing that he was working on Sonic 3 close to the Deadpool & Wolverine crew, he could have easily filmed a role in both films at the same time, which actors often do.
The Deadpool & Wolverine trailers have revealed several cameos from X-Men movie characters and actors, though they have been for smaller roles. With Ryan Reynolds and the rest of those involved with the MCU movie teasing that a lot of surprises are being saved for the film, a Cyclops-level appearance would likely be among those. While Reynolds wearing Cyclops’ visor on the press tour could mean nothing, Marsden’s recent comments make a Deadpool & Wolverine appearance a strong possibility.
