Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively

The Deadpool star discovers a hair-raising secret about Blake Lively after nearly 12 years of marriage!

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are the Hollywood power couple that give us all relationship goals, but even they have their surprises.

The Deadpool & Wolverine actor was left utterly flabbergasted after discovering his wife Blake’s real surname, all thanks to her latest venture into the world of haircare.

Blake, known for her iconic role in Gossip Girl, recently announced the launch of her beauty brand, Blake Brown, named in honour of her father, Ernest ‘Ernie’ Brown.

And in true Reynolds fashion, Ryan took to Instagram to both laud his wife’s achievement and reveal his own gobsmacked reaction to this newfound knowledge about her real last name.

“I’m obscenely proud of this woman,” Reynolds gushed on his Instagram Story.

“She’s been working on @blakebrownbeauty for 7 years. The result is exactly what you’d expect of a hyper-obsessive, detail-addicted, uncompromisingly quality control genius.”

Then, in a twist worthy of a Deadpool script, he added, “Also, I just found out her last name is Brown.”

Yes, folks, almost 12 years of wedded bliss and Reynolds just discovered Blake’s secret surname. Who knew marriage could still be full of surprises?

Blake was born Blake Ellender Brown to her parents, Ernie Brown and Elaine Lively.

After her parents tied the knot, Ernie bucked tradition and adopted the surname Lively from Elaine’s first marriage. A plot twist that even Gossip Girl would envy!

Confirming her exciting new business venture on July 31, Blake took to Instagram to share the story behind Blake Brown Beauty.

“Ever since I was a kid, through adolescence, early adulthood, motherhood, work, personal life, whenever, wherever, the single most identifiable part about me has always been my personalit— no? Not my personality? Oh… My hair,” she joked.

She elaborated on the seven-year journey of developing her haircare line, saying: “I spent 7 years (I know. It toggles between impressive and wtf took so long) obsessively developing every detail of my newest baby, @blakebrownbeauty.”

Blake’s goal was to create an affordable yet high-performing haircare line without compromising on quality, sustainability, or aesthetics.

She wrote: “Why create a line if I had products that worked? Great question. I wanted something that was more affordable but had the same salon/red carpet performance… turns out highest quality is most expensive, who knew??”

She added, “There’s a reason brands tend to have to make compromises, but we didn’t stop til we got there. I also wanted scents that felt like fragrances I would actually buy as high-end perfume.

“I wanted it to be cleaner than the products I was using with great results so I didn’t feel nervous sharing it with family.”

From ensuring the products are vegan and cruelty-free to making them free from sulfates, silicones, parabens, and synthetic dyes, Blake left no stone unturned.

She continued: “As someone who loves design desperately, I wanted it to look stunning on your shelf because that’s valuable space in your home, it should be beautiful.”

In true Blake Lively fashion, she concluded with a heartfelt note: “I was uncompromising on achieving all of those things at once. And now I see why there was nothing out there that hit all my goals simultaneously.

“It was a beast to build. But I couldn’t be prouder of what we created for you. Time to fly from the nest baby… @blakebrownbeauty.”
