XO, Kitty Season 3: Details We Know so Far
XO, Kitty immediately became a Netflix hit. As the spin-off series to To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, the show had a built-in audience. While the series has the same feel-good vibe, there is a lot more to the storyline, making it more engaging than the original movie trilogy.
So, as we prepare for season 3, let’s recap everything that we know so far. Spoilers ahead!
What Already Happened: Season 1
In season 1, Kitty receives the full heritage scholarship to the Korean Independent School of Seoul (KISS). Her mother attended KISS with the same scholarship, so Kitty was hoping to follow in her footsteps. Attending KISS would also give her a chance to learn more about her late mother and her heritage. Coincidentally, Kitty’s long-distance boyfriend Dae is a student at KISS.
When Kitty arrives, she discovers that Dae is in another relationship with affluent student Yuri. This relationship is not as it seems: Dae and Yuri’s relationship is fake. Yuri helps pay Dae’s tuition to KISS. In return, Dae is Yuri’s “boyfriend” so that her parents do not find out about her sexuality.
The school mistakes Kitty as a boy, so she ends up rooming with Dae and his two friends, Q and Min Ho. She has a rough start with the boys, exposing Min Ho and losing her relationship with Dae. However, she finds out that her mother had a baby when she was a teenager.
Later, it was revealed that Kitty and Yuri’s moms were friends. When confronted, Yuri’s mom denies it. Afterwards, she burns a yearbook page with her and Kitty’s mom.
A few episodes later, Kitty and Yuri find out her secret: Kitty’s mom, Eve, did not have the baby, Yuri’s mom used her name when she gave birth. Her son is a teacher at KISS, so Yuri’s mom tells him the truth.
Throughout the season, Kitty also develops feelings for Yuri. This causes her and Dae to break up for the final time. She ends up getting expelled for living in the boys dorms, but Yuri convinces her parents to allow her to come back to KISS. The season ends on a cliffhanger, with Min Ho confessing his feelings for Kitty on the plane back to Los Angeles.

What Already Happened: Season 2
Kitty returns to KISS for season 2. Turns out, both Dae and Min Ho have feelings for Kitty, but Yuri is back with her girlfriend Juliana. Kitty struggles with watching Yuri and Juliana together. Their fourth roommate, Stella, is also not who she claims to be.
Principal Lim tells Kitty that a boy named Simon followed her mother to Seoul. He also explained that Kitty’s grandparents were not happy about Eve attending KISS. Kitty confirms this when her grandmother abruptly hangs up the call.
Yuri and Kitty grow closer, making Juliana jealous. After watching a videotape of their parents, Kitty and Yuri kiss. Minho sees them, and Yuri makes him promise not to tell so that she can continue her relationship with Juliana.
Kitty is also in a relationship with new character Praveena. Kitty writes a letter to Yuri about her feelings, but never sends it.
The group goes on a ski trip to Minho’s ski house. While there, Kitty’s letter to Yuri is read aloud to the group. This causes Yuri and Juliana to break up, along with Kitty and Praveena. Also, Minho confesses his feelings about Kitty to Stella, which causes Dae to end him and Minho’s friendship.
Kitty and Minho go to visit Kitty’s relatives, but were kicked out instead of welcomed. Minho’s father creates a singing competition. Kitty then exposes that Minho’s girlfriend Stella is a past contestant of his fathers. Finally, Kitty realizes that she has feelings for Minho.
The season ends with Kitty’s grandmother agreeing to make amends with her sister in Seoul. Kitty’s scholarship is renewed, setting the show up for its third season. Kitty joins Minho on his brother’s tour for the summer.

What We Know About Season 3
Season 3 filming wrapped in July 2025. Netflix also confirmed that the new season will premiere in 2026, although they have yet to release the date.
For season 2, the show wrapped production in June 2024. The release date was announced on November 21, 2024, before premiering on January 16, 2025. If they continue to follow this pattern, we should not have long until a release date in announced (and, hopefully, the new season).
The original cast is returning, along with three new additions. Christine Huang will play Gigi, Soy Kim will play Yisoo, and, finally, Sule Thelwell will take on the role of Marius. Marius has been referred to in the series as Q’s ex-roommate and love interest, however we have never actually seen this character on screen. With Marius’s addition to the cast, it will be interesting to see how Q’s relationships change.
We do not know much about the plot of season 3 yet. In an interview with Deadline, Anthony Keyvan (Q) spoke about what to expect in the upcoming season. He mentioned that since the characters are now high school seniors, we will see more mature topics being explored.
Opinions
Personally, I am so excited for season 3. This show is such a fun watch – it has the perfect blend of high school drama and mystery. Also, season 2 had a ton of plot twists, which left a few cliffhangers, so it will be intriguing to see how they resolve.
I love Kitty and Minho together and I am thrilled to finally see their relationship develop in season 3. I have wanted the two to be together since the beginning of season 1, so I am ecstatic that they got together. Controversial opinion, but I hope that Juliana and Yuri do not get back together. While it is clear that they care about each other, their relationship had problems, including trust issues and lying.

Hopefully the wait for XO, Kitty season 3 is almost over. This show is not only a Netflix hit, but is all over social media, especially TikTok. It is the perfect show to binge-watch, with its engaging plot and shorter episodes. While we have had a long wait, it will definitely be worth it once the new episodes premiere.
