Unfortunately, the Bridgerton setup for an Eloise spinoff would break the series’ entire format. Bridgerton season 3 part 2 ends on an optimistic note for Eloise Bridgerton. A popular character in her own right, Eloise looks set to begin her adventures apart from the rest of the core Bridgerton characters. It’s easy to assume they’ll happen offscreen, but it’s possible they’ll play out in a future spinoff.

If it were to happen, it would be the show’s second spinoff after Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, which was crowned Netflix’s number 1 show at the time. However, Queen Charlotte and Eloise are very different characters. Charlotte is an important and entertaining character, but Bridgerton is not about her; she leads the tonBridgerton does not tell her story, so a spinoff was ideal for her. Viewers saw how she became queen and one of the ton‘s most riveting figures. On the other hand, Eloise is a Bridgerton sibling, and her spinoff would ultimately break the show.

How Bridgerton Season 3 Set Up A Possible Eloise Spinoff

Eloise’s New Life In Scotland Has A Lot Of Potential

Bridgerton season 3 has set up a spinoff for Eloise Bridgerton. Eloise’s ending in Bridgerton season 3 part 2 sees her decide to travel the world to change it, starting with Scotland because her sister Francesca is moving there with her new husband, John, and his cousin, Michaela. It is an exciting new journey for Eloise, and it has a lot of potential for future Bridgerton seasons. The concept of Eloise living in Scotland is so big that it is an excellent setup for another Bridgerton spinoff.

Eloise always wanted to change the world and bring it into a new era of society where women could be more than just wives or mothers. At the end of Bridgerton season 3, Eloise realizes the only way she will do that is if she sees the world, prompting her to travel to Scotland with her sister Francesca. This premise sets up a spinoff in that it opens the doors for Eloise to have her own exploits outside the ton for the first time.

Why An Eloise Spinoff Would Be Terrible For Bridgerton

Eloise Bridgerton Is Already A Main Character

Despite the potential that an Eloise Bridgerton spinoff has, it is not ideal for the show or her character. Eloise is part of the Bridgerton family, the primary protagonists of Bridgerton. She has not experienced her love story yet, which makes sense because she is uninterested in settling down anytime soon. However, there’s still the expectation that Eloise will have her own season dedicated to her love story, just like her siblings have. Eloise is also one of the most prominent characters in the series. If Bridgerton gave Eloise a spinoff, the show would lose a fundamental piece.

Furthermore, it would be messy for Eloise to have a separate show for her adventures, but then return during the social season in Bridgerton. Anything that Eloise experiences in her spinoff would also affect the main show.

Furthermore, it would be messy for Eloise to have a separate show for her adventures, but then return during the social season in Bridgerton. Anything that Eloise experiences in her spinoff would also affect the main show. Viewers would have to watch both to keep up with her character. Although Queen Charlotte was also a spinoff that partly took place in Bridgerton‘s present day, nothing affected any of the Bridgertons. However, Eloise is a Bridgerton, so her storylines are critical to the show. It is not practical for Bridgerton to create a spinoff for any Bridgerton sibling, including Eloise.

Could An Eloise Spinoff Actually Happen?

An Eloise Spinoff Is Possible, But Unlikely

However, the idea of another Bridgerton spinoff is not at all absurd, even for Eloise. Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story was so successful that many viewers expected Queen Charlotte season 2. However, an Eloise spinoff is highly unlikely because she is part of the Bridgerton family. However, just because Eloise does not qualify for a spinoff does not mean other characters in the ton do not. In fact, other members of the ton would benefit from their own show, most notably Violet and Edmund.

One Part Of Bridgerton Season 3 Hits Very Differently After Queen Charlotte

Queen Charlotte‘s success proved that Violet and Edmund’s spinoff would be an excellent opportunity to further capitalize on the Bridgerton franchise without complicating the present-day storyline. Furthermore, other spinoff possibilities exist, such as Lady Danbury, Will and Alice’s love story, or even an adaptation of Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton prequel novels. An Eloise spinoff might not work out, and nor would any spinoff for the other Bridgerton siblings. However, there is still a lot of potential for other spinoffs, and it would not hurt to explore them.

Julia Quinn has expressed disinterest in writing a book on Violet and Edmund’s love story because Edmund still tragically dies young.

Although an Eloise spinoff is highly unlikely and would complicate things, it does not change the fact that she is a big force on screen. Eloise has a lot of character development to endure before she is ready for her love story in Bridgerton. Each sibling only gets one season and remains a secondary character for the rest of the show. With that in mind, there may not be enough screen time for Eloise to have the proper development she needs. That leaves her actual season the only opportunity for her to undergo her character development, no matter who Eloise ends up with.
