Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 Trailer Hints at a Secret Addams Family Member — Fans Are Freaking Out! 🔥
The latest preview drops cryptic clues and unexpected reveals, teasing a family twist that could shake Nevermore Academy to its core. Viewers are already dissecting every second for hidden secrets. 👀👇
Wednesday Season 2, Part 1 saw Wednesday Addams push her psychic abilities to their limits, causing her to cry black tears and stop having visions altogether. It’s been quite frustrating for the young detective, as she had just learned to control her powers with the help of her ancestor, Goody Addams’ spell book. Wednesday seemed to have accepted that she was on her own as she looked into more local murders, especially after her mother, Morticia, burned the spell book to discourage Wednesday from pushing her powers too far again. However, the trailer for Season 2, Part 2 reveals that a new spirit guide will soon come forth to aid her: Nevermore Academy’s late principal, Larissa Weems.
As excited as fans are to see Gwendoline Christie reprise her role from Wednesday Season 1, her return has also caused some confusion. The rules about psychics might not be set in stone, but Morticia explained in Season 1 that psychics are trained by the dead and said that when Wednesday was ready, someone from her bloodline would reach out to her and become her guide. This led viewers to believe that spirit guides had to be blood relatives to their psychic students, but as far as audiences know, Larissa wasn’t connected to the Addams family in that way. While the show’s creators, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, might simply be amending this rule, it could also be revealed that Larissa Weems was secretly related to Wednesday all along.
Larissa Weems Could’ve Been Morticia’s Relative

Considering Larissa appears to have had a crush on Gomez Addams when they were students at Nevermore, it seems unlikely that she was related to him. On the other hand, Larissa could’ve been a distant relative of the Frumps and perhaps a cousin to Morticia. The two had a complicated relationship in Wednesday Season 1, with Morticia believing they were good friends but Larissa bearing a bit of a grudge against her old roommate. Apart from Gomez choosing Morticia over her, Morticia was a star student, and Larissa seemed to feel that she was forced to live in Morticia’s shadow throughout their time together at Nevermore. Even as adults, Larissa wasn’t able to let go of her resentment and resorted to tearing Morticia’s picture out of her yearbook and making little jabs that either went over Morticia’s head or were simply ignored. Their one-sided rivalry could’ve cut even deeper if they weren’t just friends but also family.
Morticia loves her family and always puts them first, but that doesn’t mean she has the best relationship with all of them. In Wednesday Season 2, her relationship with her daughter worsens as she tries to protect Wednesday from herself. The new season also reveals that Morticia has a difficult relationship with her own mother because of how she treated her sister, Ophelia, after her psychic powers drove her to madness. If Larissa were another Frump relative, her slightly troubled relationship with Morticia would fit right in with the rest of the family. It also adds a tragic dimension to their dynamic, as they could’ve grown up together and truly been good friends before Larissa grew jealous of Morticia’s accomplishments and Gomez’s love for her. Larissa could’ve even started hiding their familial connection because of her growing resentment, which would explain why she’d avoid telling Wednesday that they were related.
Principal Weems Might Become Wednesday’s Least Favorite Family Member
Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 Official Trailer

Wednesday Addams usually prefers to distance herself from her family in Wednesday, especially Morticia, but she’s actually quite fond of her extended family members. After all, Uncle Fester and Grandmama Frump are two of the only people who’ve ever brought a smile to her face. However, considering how fraught her relationship with Principal Weems was in life, it doesn’t seem likely to change if she finds out that they’re related. Wednesday often disobeyed and disagreed with Larissa in life and will probably continue to do so in death. Even worse, Wednesday won’t be able to avoid Larissa like she does with her living family members. As evidenced by their scenes in the trailer, Larissa will be able to visit Wednesday whenever she likes without anyone else seeing her, which is sure to annoy Wednesday, especially if people start thinking she’s going mad. All of this sets Larissa up to supplant Morticia as Wednesday’s least favorite family member.
That said, Wednesday might not be able to ignore Larissa completely now that she’s her spirit guide. Without Goody or her book, and with Wednesday refusing to listen to Morticia, she doesn’t have anyone else she can consult about her powers. Larissa might be her only hope of regaining her abilities, which will likely force them to work together. This could also help Wednesday see Larissa in a new light and reexamine their past. Despite Wednesday’s best intentions, she did sort of get Larissa killed by bringing her face-to-face with her murderer, Marilyn Thornhill. By acknowledging the part she played in Larissa’s death, perhaps Wednesday will be able to put aside their differences and start listening to someone who is trying to help her, a lesson she could stand to learn with her living relatives as well. In this way, Larissa might not be the relative Wednesday wants as her spirit guide, but she might be exactly the one she needs right now.
Larissa Could Help Wednesday Uncover Principal Dort’s Treachery

Regardless of whether they’re related, Larissa Weems might have another motive for returning from beyond the grave: to check on her successor, Principal Barry Dort. The one thing that Wednesday respected about Larissa was that she truly cared for Nevermore and its students and wanted to do what was best for them, even if they disagreed on what that was. Dort has taken a different approach by encouraging outcast pride to “return Nevermore to its glory days,” but more importantly, he’s going about it in rather sinister ways. Although Wednesday doesn’t know about it yet, Dort coerced Bianca Barclay into using her siren song on Morticia in an attempt to get Hester Frump to make a large donation to the school. He also knows about the school’s secret passages, which Wednesday Season 2, Part 1’s murderer, Judi Spannagel, used to escape after she attacked the school.
It’s not yet clear what other shady business Dort might be up to, but Wednesday‘s Season 2, Part 2 trailer gives fans a few more clues. In a quick shot near the end of the trailer, Principal Dort stands proudly in his office with a model of Nevermore behind him. A big, gaudy tower with an F on it rises above the rest of the Gothic buildings. Considering Grandmama Frump is also shown with this model, the F might be for Frump, and Dort could be planning to use her donation to do some remodeling on the school. While this, on its own, might not seem that strange, fans suspect that Dort is up to something else, so he could be using the construction project as a cover. Some have even theorized that Dort might be an artificial outcast like Judi, who gained her abilities through experimentation instead of being born with them. If this is the case, then his true plans for Nevermore could be quite nefarious.
Whatever Dort’s real motives are, Larissa and Wednesday are the perfect duo to take him down if necessary. Wednesday doesn’t take kindly to people who mistreat her family members, and he’s already involved Morticia and Hester in his plans. As for Larissa, she might not approve of the way Dort is exploiting Bianca’s powers, and if his motives are as ominous as they seem, she certainly won’t stand for such a person replacing her as principal. She died trying to protect Nevermore and its students, and she’ll probably want to do whatever she can to continue protecting them, even in death. While Larissa will be the one guiding Wednesday, perhaps she can also learn a thing or two from her student about uncovering the truth as they work together. It’d be a nice way for her character to find peace and closure after her untimely demise. With so many questions left to answer in Wednesday Season 2, Part 2, September 3 can’t come soon enough.
