Australian actress best known for her role in McLeod’s Daughters, Rachael Carpani passed away on December 7, aged 45.

Rachael’s sister, Georgina confirmed the news on Instagram more than a week after the actress’ passing.

She sadly passed following a “long battle with chronic illness,” however, the specific details haven’t yet been revealed.

Following the news of her death, many friends, family and fellow actors have shared tributes to Rachael, honouring her memory.

Her McLeod’s Daughters co-star, Bridie Carter, who played Tess Silverman, shared her “deepest sorrow and profound sympathy for the Carpani family.”

“This is the most difficult post,” she began. “Rest In Peace our beautiful girl….the “baby” of our MD family…. We love you, we cherish you….. This is the wrong order of things. We are better people for having the privilege of sharing time with you.

“We know Rach will not only be missed immeasurably by her family, by us, but she is loved and will be missed by you all, around the world. We love you Carpani. We miss you Rach.

“May your blessed spirit, so vivid, so full of life, laughter, joy, generosity, unique talent, energy, fervour, intelligence, resilience, courage and great humour, and a gentle humility, may you rest in peace….. Love you Rach xxxxx Sending prayers to Rachael’s family, please pray for them too.”

In the midst of heartbreaking news between the terror attack at Bondi Beach and the passing of Rachael, Johnny Pasvolksy also shared a message.

“After the revolting attack on my home town, Bondi Beach and the grief that has enveloped us all, I can’t believe that I am now sharing more heartbreak,” the McLeod’s Daughters actor wrote on Instagram.

“My beautiful, funny friend and screen partner from McLeod’s Daughters, Rachael Carpani has passed away. Way. Too. Soon. My heart is with her family in a time of unimaginable pain. Rest in peace Rach. You made me laugh (and you made me cry once😂).”
