The good news is that The Lincoln Lawyer hasn’t suffered from the Netflix curse of being unceremoniously cancelled too soon. The show was renewed for season 4 quickly after the third season was released. Most of the updates about The Lincoln Lawyer season 4 have been exciting, but now the show threatens to end a promising streak.
The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4 Will Reportedly Release In February 2026

News about The Lincoln Lawyer season 4 has been scarce since the news that filming wrapped. They’d already shared the new cast members and the book that it would follow. However, we might finally have a new update from a reputable source.
That being said, there is a chance that it will move to a different date or month, as needed, even if that is correct at this moment. However, at the very least, it offers fans a general expectation of a timeline. Unfortunately, it also means the show will break its exciting Netflix trend from the past three seasons.
The Lincoln Lawyer’s 2026 Premiere Would Break The Show’s Yearly Release Streak

If The Lincoln Lawyer season 4 comes out in 2026, it will break the show’s trend of releasing one season every year. The Lincoln Lawyer season 1 came out in May 2022, season 2 was released in July 2023, and season 3 debuted in August 2024. The consistent schedule has made The Lincoln Lawyer a relief.
Netflix has an irritating tendency to go years between seasons of its original shows. (I’m looking at you, Wednesday and Stranger Things.) It has both frustrated audience members and negatively impacted many shows’ viewership numbers, with only a few heavy hitters defying this trend.

Why The Lincoln Lawyer Is Better Off Waiting Until 2026 To Return

While The Lincoln Lawyer’s potential year-and-a-half gap is disappointing, it could ultimately be better for the Netflix show. Netflix has one big, highly anticipated release coming at the end of 2025 that will take time and attention away from every other release. Stranger Things season 5 will come out in three parts on November 26, December 25, and December 31.
Unless The Lincoln Lawyer came out in October, there wouldn’t be enough time for the legal drama to thrive before getting absolutely trampled by the final season of Stranger Things. Even then, it would only have one month or so before it would get overshadowed by one of Netflix’s most-watched TV shows.
While it’s not a 100% overlap, the two shows don’t have completely different audiences, meaning one would take away from the other if they came out at the same time. By waiting until February 2026, Stranger Things has enough time to dominate the charts for multiple weeks before audiences have to shift their attention to The Lincoln Lawyer.
