“THE HORSE RETURNED… BUT HE DIDN’T.”
In the newly released Outlander Episode 5 trailer, the moment shaking viewers isn’t explosive — it’s painfully quiet. Jamie Fraser’s horse rides back alone, its saddle stained with blood, and suddenly it feels like everything is about to fall apart.
The trailer flashes between Claire standing near the stones, her expression hauntingly empty, and scattered glimpses of chaos hinting at something far worse than danger — real loss. Then comes the line that has everyone talking: “I’ve felt him leave me before… but this time, the air is empty.”
Fans are now analyzing every frame of the teaser, convinced this may not be another misdirection. Some believe the long-discussed “ghost” theory could finally be unfolding. Even Lord John’s silent, broken reaction seems to say everything without a word. As the clip spreads online, viewers aren’t just watching anymore — they’re preparing for the moment they’ve dreaded for years.

The full trailer for Starz’s Outlander season seven part two promises the long-awaited new episodes are going to put fans through the emotional wringer. Jamie, Claire, and Ian return to Scotland, but as anyone who’s read Diana Gabaldon’s seventh book of the series knows, there’s plenty of turmoil ahead for the Fraser family.
“Coming off the first half of Outlander season seven, we find Claire, Jamie, and Young Ian leaving the colonies and arriving in their beloved homeland: Scotland. The perils of the Revolutionary War force them to choose between standing by those they love and fighting for the land they have made their new home,” reads Starz’s synopsis. “Meanwhile, Roger and Brianna face new enemies across time and must battle the forces that threaten to pull their family apart. As loyalties change and painful secrets come to light, Jamie and Claire’s marriage is tested like never before. With their love binding them over oceans and centuries, can the MacKenzies and Frasers find their way back to each other?”
Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan star as Claire and Jamie Fraser. Sophie Skelton plays Brianna MacKenzie, Richard Rankin is Roger MacKenzie, John Bell is Young Ian, and David Berry stars as Lord John Grey. Charles Vandervaart is William Ransom, Izzy Meikle-Small is Rachel Hunter, and Joey Phillips is Denzell Hunter.
Executive producers include Balfe, Heughan, Matthew B. Roberts, Ronald D. Moore, Maril Davis, Toni Graphia, Luke Schelhaas, Andy Harries, and Jim Kohlberg.
