Rob Reiner & Michele Singer Reiner’s Cause of Death Revealed

Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner’s causes of death have been revealed.

Following their deaths at their home in Los Angeles Dec. 14, the pair were determined to have died from “multiple sharp force injuries,” meaning cuts or stabs from a sharp object, according to the Los Angeles Medical Examiner.

LAPD had been called to the home of Rob and Michele on Dec. 14, where they discovered two bodies—later identified as the director and his wife—which had suffered stab wounds, according to NBC News.

The following day, the LAPD confirmed Rob and Michele were the “victims of homicide” and that an investigation led to authorities determining their son Nick Reiner, 32, was “responsible for their deaths,” according to a Dec. 15 press release.

Nick was arrested and booked on suspicion of murder on the evening of Dec. 14 and remanded into custody without bail, according to the release.

He was charged with two counts of murder with the special circumstance allegation of multiple murders on Dec. 16, with the Los Angeles County District Attorney stating in a press release that their son “personally used a dangerous and deadly weapon, a knife” in the killings.

Nick—who is being represented by lawyer Alan Jackson—has not yet entered a plea.

The 32-year-old also detailed the difficulties he faced amid his battle with addiction, which included 17 stays in rehab facilities and bouts of homelessness.

“If I wanted to do it my way and not go to the programs they were suggesting,” he explained, “then I had to be homeless.”

“Having to deal with that stuff made me who I am now,” Nick continued, “Now, I’ve been home for a really long time, and I’ve sort of gotten acclimated back to being in L.A. and being around my family. But there was a lot of dark years there.”
