The rumors of Taylor Swift joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe get an interesting reaction from Deadpool & Wolverine star Ryan Reynolds. The Multiverse Saga is about to have its biggest adventure this summer with the release of Deadpool & Wolverine. While it will bring Reynolds’ Wade Wilson into the MCU on a full-time basis, Deadpool & Wolverine will also serve as a proper sendoff to 20th Century Fox, 24 years after its first movie release.
As Deadpool & Wolverine tickets are now on sale, Fandango released a new interview with Shawn Levy, Hugh Jackman, and Reynolds to promote the massive summer blockbuster. When Swift potentially appearing as Dazzler in Deadpool & Wolverine came up during the interview, Reynolds gave the following response:
Why Taylor Swift Appearing In Deadpool & Wolverine Would Be Perfect
With a lot of similarities between Swift and Dazzler in the comics, seeing her as the beloved singing mutant would be a fun way for Deadpool & Wolverine to lean into the meta aspect of its story and tone. Outside of a brief cameo in X-Men: Dark Phoenix, where she was played by Halston Sage, Dazzler’s MCU debut would be a big deal if Swift were to play her. Even though it would likely not be the beginning of a multi-arc narrative for Dazzler, this only makes the possibility of her being played by Swift all the more viable.
Given how much those asking about the matter have delicately dodged the question, it certainly doesn’t seem off the cards to have Taylor Swift appear in Deadpool & Wolverine. Whether or not Swift is playing Dazzler or some other character is the bigger question. With only two months left to go, the MCU audience will know soon enough if Swift is making her superhero arrival in Deadpool & Wolverine.
