Seems like Ryan Reynolds has one major rule he wishes his Wrexham players followed to the tee!

He may not seem like it when judging him from his goofy, witty side, but Ryan Reynolds most certainly has some rules in his life. And while those aren’t for him, he does expect these rules to be duly followed nonetheless by the ones he has ordained them for — his Welsh football team, Wrexham AFC — especially when they’re anywhere around his wife, Blake Lively.

While the club continues to leave fans baffled with its fairy-tale run and achievements, the co-owner of the team Reynolds makes sure this one particular rule is followed to the core by the star-studded players of his team. And, for the record, this major rule has something to do with what the team has to do while meeting and greeting the love of his life.
Ryan Reynolds Has One Major Rule for His Wrexham Players
Make sure you have a shirt on every time you see Blake Lively and wish to go ahead and greet her. That’s the major rule the Deadpool & Wolverine actor wishes was followed to the tee “every time we’ve come as a family and stuff.“
However, one player in particular still doesn’t seem to get it: Ollie Palmer.

During an appearance on the Fearless In Devotion – Wrexham AFC Podcast, Reynolds shared the same while letting out how Palmer is pretty much the only one who still runs out shirtless to greet Lively. He said:
Every time we’ve come as a family and stuff, we’ll walk down to the locker room, and Ollie’s the first guy that walks out of that dressing room completely shirtless to have a conversation with my wife.
Hilariously enough (or perhaps not so much), this seemingly pisses off Reynolds.
That said, the If star doesn’t hesitate to remind his striker Ollie Palmer of this major rule. As he continued to share during the same appearance:
I’m always like, ‘Ollie, put a f–king shirt on and come back out like a gentleman.’

However, this does not, in any way, mean that Ryan Reynolds has beef with Palmer. In fact, if anything, the acing Hollywood heartthrob actually considers the Wrexham striker to be “one of the best guys we know,” as he later admitted during the podcast.
That being said, this feeling is mutual, considering how even Palmer admitted how owners Reynolds and Rob McElhenney‘s passion drives his team to “want to run through more bricks for them.”
Ryan Reynolds Makes the Wrexhams “Want to run through more bricks for them”
Ever since Reynolds and McElhenney bought Wrexham AFC back in 2021, the team has garnered some major wins and continues to go through a fairy-tale run under its owners who have brought this previously-little-known team to the international spotlight.

For instance, besides clinching the National League title last year and climbing back into the English Football League after fifteen years, they have also scored yet another promotion to reach League One, making it 2 back-to-back promotions for Wrexham F.C. for the 2023-24 season.
Not only that but even in Wales, the team has become “one of the most dominant and powerful teams” with 23 record wins in the Welsh Cup (as recorded by The Week). Then there’s the F.C.’s official partnership with Gatorade, which it bagged after ascending to EFL League One.
That’s not all, for this club even has a critically-acclaimed Emmy-winning docuseries Welcome to Wrexham, which showcases how the team went from pretty much nobody to some of the most acclaimed underdogs after these two star-studded Hollywood actors acquired it.
That said, Ollie Palmer seemingly feels like it is none other than Reynolds and McElhenney who drive the team to “want to run through more bricks for them” and achieve even more.

Claiming how he has “never had owners that are this passionate and this involved with the football club, with the community, and what they’re doing for everyone,” the striker said during an interview with PEOPLE:
When you’ve got owners on top like them, you want to run through more bricks for them. So, from a playing point of view, it definitely helps the players.
Well, considering just how much he cares for his team, Reynolds seems to have won a lot more than just the hearts of fans worldwide. And all he asks his team for in return? Wear a shirt while greeting his lady!
