The actors channel their unique brand of humor for an uproariously funny recap.
If you need a quick refresher on everything that happened in the Deadpool movies ahead of this month’s Deadpool & Wolverine, you should get it from the horse’s mouth.
Marvel’s Merc with a Mouth and adamantium-fueled mutant are officially joining the Disney-owned Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman leading the charge as their fan-favorite X-Men characters. And even though the game is changing with a lot of multiverse-hopping shenanigans, there’s a lot of history embedded throughout the movie.
The stars team up for Entertainment Weekly‘s cover shoot to recap Deadpool’s history on the big screen, starting with X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), leading through to Deadpool (2016), and ending with Deadpool 2 (2018). But it’s all done with their signature, irreverent flavor.
Emma Corrin also arrives as Cassandra Nova, an extremely powerful telekinetic and telepath from the comics. There’s also a whole host of cameos sprinkled throughout the movie, including Sabretooth (a villain from 2000’s X-Men) and Pyro (Aaron Stanford’s fire-wielding role from 2003’s X2: X-Men United and 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand).
Deadpool & Wolverine, directed by Shawn Levy, opens in theaters July 26. Watch the recap in the video above.
