Hugh Jackman also joined in the chaotic interview to ask Lively’s costar Brandon Sklenar: “What the hell are you doing messing with my best buddy’s wife?”

Blake Lively has a new love interest in her upcoming film It Ends With Us and her husband Ryan Reynolds is taking it all super well and definitely not freaking out.

On Tuesday, the Deadpool & Wolverine star posted a hilariously awkward Instagram video that saw him, his mom Tammy Reynolds, and best buddy Hugh Jackman ruthlessly interrogate Lively’s costar Brandon Sklenar during a recent press day for the film.

“It’s not every day the husband gets to interview his wife’s love interest in a film. It’s kind of crazy,” Ryan remarked as he sat down for their chat. When a nervous Sklenar turned to notify someone offscreen that this wasn’t on his schedule, Ryan replied, “Let’s dive in, shall we?”

The actor, who married Lively in 2012, then proceeded to hold up a photo of Sklenar with his back turned to the camera and pointed to his butt. “Is that genetics? Do you have some sort of low-angle squat routine to pop that region in that way?” He asked. “I mean, what’s going on here, man? Are you smuggling pumpkins?”

Ryan continued to spiral from there, leading him to jokingly reveal to Sklenar that he’d been on a “meth journey for about six months now.” To which Sklenar responded, “I mean, I’m not a doctor, but you’re probably gonna die.”

When Sklenar suggested they take a break, a frazzled Ryan replied, “From Blake? Sure.” When the cameras cut back two minutes later, Sklenar had seemingly won Ryan over as the pair shared a hug.

His mom Tammy, however, was a different story. Magically appearing in the seat opposite him, she said, “Well, it’s not every day the mother-in-law of the leading lady gets to interview the love interest and the man trying to replace my sweet little gummy bear, Ryan.”

If that wasn’t traumatic enough, Tammy then began to read a series of questions given to her by Ryan that all centered around Sklenar becoming his new dad.

When she became hesitant about asking him a specific question, Ryan jumped in and read it for her. “It says: Ryan would love to have a new dad to have a catch, and I think he could really use a man in his life,” he said. “Hugh is no spring chicken anymore. Blink once for yes, or blink once for ‘I’d love to be your new dad.’ He blinked!”

A very dejected-looking Sklenar then asked, “Is this hell?”

After winning Tammy over, Jackman appeared and began to grill “the guy trying to replace Ryan as a husband and me as his best mate.” To which Sklenar simply responded, “Holy s—.”

Sklenar, again, convinced Jackman of his pure intentions by showing his appreciation for the X-Men actor’s career. “Sir, I have no idea what’s happening at all today, but I do have to say while I have you here: Your work in Les Mis — what a triumph,” Sklenar said. “I mean, I am a huge fan. I mean, you can do it all.”

The newest recruits of the Brandon Sklenar Fan Club could all be seen at the end of the clip wearing the same cardigan as Sklenar and gushing over the actor. “I was expecting not to like him, but he is so nice!” Tammy confessed. Jackman added, “I think we found the next Wolverine!”
