UFC lightweight contender Paddy Pimblett wants a spot in the top 15 after his next fight, and may have found the man to get it for him.

Beloved Liverpool native Pimblett is all but booked for UFC 304 in Manchester this summer, but it is unclear as yet who he will be facing on that night. He has a number of options and is one of the most called out fighters in the division, but no announcement seems imminent.

However, he may have landed the fight of his dreams, telling one top contender that he would gladly sign a contract in the coming hours if it arrives to him. Pimblett is guaranteed to draw a crowd to the Co-Op Live Arena, but is keen for a dance partner who can carry their weight.

Renato Moicano calls out Paddy Pimblett for UFC 304

Coming in at number ten in the rankings makes Brazilian Renato Moicano a fascinating prospect for Pimblett’s next outing. The fight would be a massive step up for the Brit, who has yet to face a bonafide contender on a lengthy winning streak.

The Brazilian has won five of his last six, with his sole loss coming at the hands of former world champion Rafael Dos Anjos. And he is confident of beating Pimblett, who has yet to taste defeat in the octagon despite some close calls.

“I know Paddy Pimblett is saying my name a lot,” he told fans on his podcast. “I’m going to make easy money off you in Manchester. If you want to see that fight, f***ing tag all the UFC, Dana White. Ask UFC for that fight because that’s going to happen.”

Fight fans could be in for a treat as Pimblett took to Instagram in a video message, telling Moicano that he is up for the fight if it is offered officially. The Brit can be seen in the post, which was viewed over half a million times, after training watching the clip on his phone.

He then proceeds to respond: “Let’s do it then. Send me the contract and I’ll sign it and have it back by tonight.” Moicano then commented that the fight was “Izi Moni”.

The simple message has excited fans around the world, with one saying that it will be a “Fun fight and a fun build up.” Another added that: “Money Moicano VS Paddy The Baddy would be crazy.”

Paddy Pimblett wanted to coach The Ultimate Fighter with Renato Moicano

Unfortunately for fans who wanted to see a lengthy build-up between the two famed trash talkers, UFC 304 will give them just a few months for build-up. It’s a far cry from Pimblett’s initial plan of having them compete as coaches on The Ultimate Fighter before stepping in for a finale after a lengthy build.

“I’d rather fight my boy, Moicano,” he said in a recent YouTube video. “Where you at, Renato? I don’t even dislike Renato Moicano. I actually like him.

“He’s a funny guy. He’s a cool dude. So me and him having a fight would be hilarious. The buildup to that fight would be very, very funny. I think it’d be even funnier if me and him done a season of The Ultimate Fighter.

“That’d be six, seven, eight weeks of pure comedy for the fans. So I’d love that, to be honest. And I’d rather go right in at rank 10 rather than beating rank 15.”
