‘The Night Agent’ Season 3: Premiere Date Set; Plot & Peter’s New Partner Post-Rose Revealed; Teaser & Photos Introduce Stephen Moyer & More

Peter Sutherland is back in (night) action. Season 3 of Netflix’s thriller drama series The Night Agent starring Gabriel Basso will premiere Feb. 19. Along with the release date, the streamer has revealed the first official information about the premise of the new season along with first-look photos and a teaser that introduce four of the new cast members: series regulars Stephen Moyer, Genesis Rodriguez and David Lyons and recurring Suraj Sharma. (No sign yet of new series regular Jennifer Morrison.)

Coming off the explosive events of Season 2, Night Agent Peter Sutherland (Basso) is called in to track down a young Treasury Agent (Sharma) who fled to Istanbul with sensitive government intel after killing his boss. This kicks off a sequence of events where Peter investigates a dark money network while avoiding its paid assassins, while putting him on a collision course with a relentless journalist (Rodriguez). Working together, they uncover buried secrets and old grudges that threaten to bring the government to its knees — and get them both killed in the process.

If the last line of the description feels like dĂ©jĂ  vu, it is because that’s basically what Peter and the intrepid Rose Larkin (Luciane Buchanan) did in the first two seasons. As Deadline revealed exclusively in September, Buchanan is not returning for Season 3, with the new character Isabel, played by Rodriguez, giving a Rose successor vibe.

Season 3 Cast

Basso is one of only two returning Season 2 series regular on the official Season 3 series regular cast, along with Louis Herthum. They are joined by new Night Agent additions Rodriguez, Moyer, Lyons, Morrison and Callum Vinson as well as Albert Jones, Ward Horton and Fola Evans-Akingbola who have been promoted to series regulars.

Moyer plays The Father, a top hitman; Lyons plays Adam, a former spy lured out of retirement; Morrison plays the First Lady.

Herthum, Jones and Horton will reprise their roles introduced in Season 2. Jones and Horton recurred as Deputy Director Aiden Mosely and Governor/incoming U.S. President Richard Hagan, respectively; Herthum plays shady and powerful businessman Jacob Monroe. Evans-Akingbola, who portrays Secret Agent Chelsea Arrington, was a series regular in Season 1. She sat out Season 2 before making a cameo in the finale to tee up her Season 3 return.

Missing from the list is Amanda Warren who joined Season 2 as a series regular, playing Peter’s Night Action boss Catherine Weaver. She was featured in the Season 2 finale cliffhanger that set up Peter’s new mission and is pictured in two of the Season 3 first-look images. While no longer a series regular, Warren is in the new season as a recurring, Deadline can reveal.

Season 3 Locations & Teaser

The upcoming season was filmed primarily in New York with a location shoot in Istanbul. The Turkish city is showcased in the teaser which illustrates the first part of the Season 3 logline as Peter (Basso) tracks down the fugitive treasury agent (Sharma) at the Beßiktaß Stadium in Istanbul.

The promo also teases Peter’s encounter with Moyer’s The Father and reveals a (somewhat corny) new tagline for the series, “What began with a call became a calling.” It references Peter’s evolution from a lowly FBI agent manning the Night Action phone line to a top Night Agent.

Quick Season 3 Return & Likely Season 4 Renewal

The Night Agent, from Sony Pictures Television, is done under a version of The Pitt model: larger episode count and lower budget than the typical high-end streaming drama series — 10 episodes a season for The Night Agent (up from the standard 8), with The Pitt even higher at 15 — and a yearly return.

Season 3 of The Night Agent will premiere Feb. 19, 2026, a little over a year after Season 2’s Jan. 23, 2025 debut. (That compared to the almost two years between Seasons 1 and Season 2 due, in part, to the writers strike.)

To accomplish that, Netflix gave The Night Agent an early Season 3 renewal last year ahead of the Season 2 release. The streamer is on track to do the same with an early Season 4 pickup after the show secured a $31.6 million (40%) California tax credit to relocate to Los Angeles. A writers room for the new season has been up and running.
