Netflix’s upcoming Harlan Coben drama, Run Away, has gotten an exciting first look with new images from the set. It is set to premiere on the streamer at the top of the new year.

Per Deadline, Run Away stars James Nesbitt, Ruth Jones, Minnie Driver and Alfred Enoch. The television series is made for Netflix and adapted from one of Coben’s novels, with its plot seeing a father searching for his runaway daughter. The eight-part series will launch on Jan. 1, 2026. New images from the series tease the mystery as well as plenty of danger, including a shot that teases Maeve Courtier-Lilley’s character of Dee Dee and Join Pointing’s Ash pointing a gun and covered in blood.

Run Away will follow Simon (Nesbitt), who seems to have a perfect life and a loving wife — all to have it fall apart when his eldest daughter, Paige, runs away. He finds her, vulnerable and on drugs in a city park, but things quickly escalate into violence when an argument breaks out and Simon realizes she’s not alone. After just finding her, Simon loses his daughter all over again, and the series will force him to venture to a dangerous underworld in order to get her back.

Lucian Msamati, Tracy-Ann Oberman, Annette Badland, Ellie de Lange, Adrian Greensmith, Ellie Henry, Ingrid Oliver, Finty Williams, Joe McGann and Amy Gledhill are also set to star in Run Away. Coben serves as an executive producer for the series, with Danny Brocklehurst (Shameless) writing and Nimer Rashed and Isher Sahota directing.

Run Away will be the latest in a string of successful Coben adaptations for Netflix. Most recently, Missing You was released and quickly became one of the platform’s top-ten all-time English-language shows with over 94 million views since it debuted in January 2024. Other popular Coben works adapted for Netflix include Fool Me Once, Gone for Good, The Stranger and Stay Close. After Run Away, numerous others are already lined up, including Caught, Just One Look and I Will Find You.

Coben Teams Up With Prime Video for a New Horror Thriller Series

While Coben’s novels have launched a string of beloved Netflix series, the author will soon be expanding his streaming empire onto Prime Video. Lazarus, a horror/thriller show, will premiere on the Amazon streamer on Oct. 22. It will consist of six episodes, all of which will be released on Prime Video at the same time.

Lazarus will follow a respected forensic psychologist “who returns home after his father dies by suicide and begins to have disturbing experiences that can’t be explained. He quickly becomes entangled in a series of cold-case murders as he grapples with the mystery of his father’s death and his sister’s murder 25 years ago.” It will star Sam Claflin and Bill Nighy.

Run Away will premiere on Netflix on Jan. 1, 2026.
