The muscle-bound former NFL star has one of the most famous physiques in the world, but has limited fighting experience. However, he appears to making his first appearance in the boxing ring on June 15 as part of a massive boxing event in Brazil.

Terry Crews confirms boxing debut against UFC legend Anderson Silva
Earlier this week, former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva appeared to be teasing one final fight, which would take place in his native Brazil. He shared a teaser video for an event called Spaten Fight Night, and teased a surprising opponent.

The announcement video had a caption in Portugese which roughly translated read: “Time for the Spider-Man’s Grand Finale in Brazil. And the farewell of a martial arts legend in his country had to come at a special occasion.

“Late Fight Night. Spaten’s new fighting platform. June 15th in São Paulo And you watch it live at Globe. Can you guess who the opponent is? Tell us in the comments.”

And hours later, Crews shared a post of his own seemingly confirming that he was the opponent. In the video, he says: “Alright, Anderson Silva I’ve been training, I’m ready.

“June 15 I’ll see you at Fight Night in Brazil, y’all. June 15, let’s go, Anderson Silva; me, you, let’s make it happen. What? Terry Crews here, Brazil!”

Anderson Silva to retire from fighting after legendary career

It appears that the event is being promoted as Silva’s last after a decades-long run as one of the greatest athletes of all time. ‘The Spider’ was once considered the greatest living fighter on the planet at the peak of his record-setting UFC run.

He ultimately lost quite a few of his last bouts in the octagon. But to the end he always remained competitive with some of the best in the world after coming back from a gruesome broken leg in his rematch with Chris Weidman.

Silva then moved into boxing, defeating former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in Mexico in one of the great crossover performances from an MMA fighter in the ring of all time. He swiftly moved on to former UFC champion Tito Ortiz, who he dispatched of easily to set up a fight with Jake Paul.

Silva boxed well in the early rounds against Paul in October of 2022, but was unable to win enough on the scorecards to overcome a late knockdown from the YouTuber. He was non-committal about his future after the fact, but hasn’t fought since.
