Latest update on search for missing Oakland coffee shop owner Amy Hillyard: ‘Combing through hours of tapes’
An update was provided Saturday afternoon in the search for missing coffee shop owner Amy Hillyard, who was last seen more than a week ago, on Wednesday, March 25 just after 2 p.m. near the 500 block of Radnor Road in Oakland. Hillyard is considered at risk due to an undisclosed medical condition.
Now investigators are hoping to see if Hillyard was recently spotted at any Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) stations in Oakland.
A new website, BringAmyHome.com, has been created to help people stay on track with any updates in the case.
Hillyard is the co-owner of Farley’s Coffee and serves as president of the board of directors for the Piedmont East Bay Children’s Choir.

Hillyard is described as a 52-year-old white woman, 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 120 pounds, with blonde hair and hazel eyes. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a white short-sleeved shirt, light-colored jeans, and white sneakers with black stripes.
BringAmyHome posted the following update on Saturday at 3:40 p.m.: “During this holiday weekend, dozens of Amy’s friends are taking time to continue the search. They are combing through hours of tapes to see if they can spot Amy at BART stops or on streets throughout Oakland, and continuing to flyer throughout Oakland.
Investigators with OPD also plan another video canvass this weekend and continue to follow up on information reported to OPD.”

On Tuesday, Oakland police said its missing persons unit coordinated a search with neighboring law enforcement agencies, along with 60 friends, family, and volunteers. The search “centered on Dimond Park, where recent video footage placed Hillyard around 4:30 p.m. on March 25, 2026, the day she was last seen.”
A statement released by Amy’s husband, Chris, on Thursday reads, “As more time goes by without Amy, the agony of her absence is devastating. We are still holding on to hope, thanks to Amy’s community of friends and volunteers who continue to search every day. They are a source of strength to our family and me.”
On Friday, the Oakland Police Department and the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office search and rescue units canvassed Skyline Gate, considered to be one of Amy’s favorite places to hike and walk.
Anyone with information on Amy Hillyard’s disappearance or whereabouts is urged to contact the OPD’s Missing Persons Unit at (510) 238-3641.
