Meghan Markle is hosting a party to celebrate Prince Harry’s 40th birthday and is only inviting A-list celebrities

Meghan Markle is organising a party to celebrate Prince Harry’s 40th birthday on September 15 — but as he hits middle age, he’s more “lost” and estranged from his brother than ever.

Meghan Markle is organising a 40th birthday party for Prince Harry that will be packed with A-listers and celebrities, according to a report in the US.

Page Six says the big birthday bash will be held in Montecito, in sun-kissed southern California, 5,000 miles away from the Duke of Sussex’s estranged family in the rainy old UK.

And instead of members of the British Royal Family, it will be Hollywood royalty who will be gathering to wish Harry well as he enters his fifth decade. Meghan, 43, had to scale back her own 40th birthday celebrations in August 2021 due to the Covid pandemic.

The New York Post gossip site suggests that Harry is “lost” and having a “mid-life crisis” and is unlikely to receive any birthday wishes from his older brother, Prince William. It quoted an insider who said: “William is furious. I’m not sure what can ever be done to mend fences.”

It is a far cry from Harry’s last big milestone. When he turned 30 in 2014, William and his wife Catherine arranged a VIP dinner party at Clarence House in London, followed by a “ski-themed” disco complete with snow machines.

Kate had planned to cook Harry’s favourite dishes, beef wellington and fish pie. However, she was too ill with morning sickness to toil away in the kitchen. They were still on the menu, however, along with Eton Mess (Harry’s favourite dessert from his school days) and Highgrove champagne and Claret courtesy of King Charles.

The guest list included Catherine’s sister Pippa Middleton, singer Ellie Goulding, Harry’s ex Cressida Bonas and 30 of his closest pals from his youth in Gloucestershire, including Guy Pelly.

So who could be at the party? The Sussexes have no shortage of celebrity neighbours in Montecito, which is home to dozens of major stars including Ariana Grande, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, Owen Wilson and Gwyneth Paltrow.

However, it is not known how many – if any – have become friendly with Harry and Meghan. One Montecito resident who IS known to be close pals with the couple is Oprah Winfrey. Here’s a selection of the stars who could be present:

Oprah Winfrey – Harry and Meghan gave THAT interview to the chat show host at her home in Montecito in 2021
Beyonce and Jay Z – Beyonce and Meghan hit it off immediately when they met at the Lion King premiere in London in 2019 and they’ve stayed close ever since. After the Oprah interview, ‘Queen Bey’ gushed: “Thank you, Meghan, for your courage and leadership. We are all strengthened and inspired by you.”
Serena Williams – the tennis star used to be one of Meghan’s neighbours in Beverly Hills
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend – the US model said Meghan had “been so kind to me ever since we connected”
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas – Bollywood superstar and her actor husband were guests at Harry and Meghan’s wedding
Melissa McCarthy – the actress recorded a special video for Meghan’s 40th, when she launched a women’s mentorship programme for women called 40X40
Katherine McPhee and David Foster – one of Meghan’s oldest friends and her music producer husband, who gets on so well with Harry they are almost “like father and son”
Abigail Spencer – Meghan’s co-star in Suits was also a guest at the wedding and the trio have been on hiking holidays together
