In 2023, Jonathan Bailey revealed he was romantically involved but had opted to maintain his partner’s anonymity. Speaking to The Standard, he disclosed he was seeing a “lovely man”, describing his situation as “not secret but private”.
He remains unmarried. Previously, the performer was said to be linked to actor James Ellis, though this connection was never officially confirmed.

Jonathan portrays Fiyero, a Winkie Prince. Initially, he is Glinda’s love interest but later forms a romantic attachment with Elphaba.
After Elphaba casts a spell to protect him that goes awry, he transforms into a scarecrow. He then assists Elphaba in faking her own death, and they both flee Oz to live happily ever after.
The casting decision has been well-received by fans, with one Reddit user commenting: “So princely! Gorgeous! Masterful! Regal! Intense!”.
