Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have not been able to sell the mega-mansion they purchased for their marital home last year, according to a Monday report from TMZ.
The house has already been on the market for over a month.
The divorcing couple bought the home for $60million, and made quite a few upgrades to the place.
According to its Zillow listing, the estate, dubbed Crestview Manor, boasts a 38,000 square foot house with 12 bedrooms and 24 baths.
The property has ‘a separate 5,000-square-foot guest penthouse, caretaker house, and two-bedroom guardhouse.’
There’s also a ‘spacious 12-car garage and parking for 80 vehicles.’
Any looky-loos will have a hard time doing a drive-by of the estate as it is sits behind double gates and is ‘accessible only through private, gated streets.’
Lopez and Affleck listed it for sale in July with an asking price of $68 million, but so far there have been quite a few showings, but no takers, according to sources who spoke to TMZ.
Real Estate sources who consulted with the outlet offered a variety of explanations as to why the house could be slow to move, considering its celebrity connection.
Some suggested that there might not be that many clients in the market for a multi-million dollar mansion, especially one that is being flipped just a year after purchase.
Others suggested that the slow market, some of it attributed to the current mortgage rate of 7.12-percent for a 30 year fixed mortgage, might be too high a price to pay.
The market could heat up if fed chairman Jerome ‘Jay’ Powell lowers interest rates as next month as expected.
Lopez filed for divorce on August 20, the second anniversary of the former couple’s formal wedding ceremony.
She listed their day of separation as April 26 in her filing and cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
People reported the Unstoppable actress had been scouting new properties since April, but hasn’t settled on anything yet.
She also finalized the sale of a condo in New York City on the day of the filing.
Affleck has already moved in to a $20 million, five bedroom house he purchased in July.
