Lorraine shares an update from hospital
Lorraine Kelly has opened up about her health, revealing that she is set to go under the knife after not feeling well “for a while”.
The veteran ITV morning show host took to Instagram, sharing insights directly from her hospital bed as she explained to followers the nature of her upcoming ‘preventative’ surgery.
The beloved broadcaster reassured fans that she will be “totally fine” despite needing her ovaries removed. In her social media update, Lorraine gave a reassuring smile, stating: “Just wanted to let you know I’m having a wee procedure today. I’ve not been feeling all that well for a little while, so I had some scans and tests, and I have to have my ovaries and my tubes taken out.
“It’s purely preventative. It’s going to be with keyhole surgery, which is incredible, I’m being very well looked after, and I’ll obviously see you really soon, and I’m gonna be totally fine.”
Her post also included an appreciative caption that read: “Getting keyhole surgery – all preventative – feel very lucky to be treated so well – thank you Dr Raafat and all the staff!”.
Colleagues and admirers were quick to express their support in the comments. ITV colleague Katie Piper said: “Hope you make a speedy recovery,”, and Dr Amir Khan echoed this sentiment, saying: “Wishing you a speedy recovery – you are the best!”, reports the Mirror.
From the Good Morning Britain team, Susanna Reid conveyed her love and support, and Adele Roberts sent regards: “Lots of love to you Lorraine! Get well soon.”
Charlotte Hawkins, Vanessa Feltz, Julia Bradbury and Matt Baker have all shown their solidarity with the host.
