Deadpool & Wolverine has sent a jolt of energy into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and rumors have circulated claiming that Sabrina Carpenter is part of the movie’s cast. Because Deadpool & Wolverine contains countless Easter eggs and references, audiences have spent so much time parsing through much of what is there so deeply that they have begun to speculate on other details that may not exist. With the ending of Deadpool & Wolverine, the MCU is moving into a new stage of the Multiverse Saga, and audiences are hungry to discover what may come next in the universe.

Deadpool & Wolverine has so many cameos that adding another famous person to the revealed list would seem unsurprising. While the appearances of Channing Tatum’s Gambit and Wesley’s Snipes’ Blade are more significant roles that are integral to the plot, there is so much movement in the background of every scene bursting with detail to examine. Brief appearances by actors like Nathan Fillion and Matthew McConaughey are easy to miss amid the glut of content onscreen. This has led to speculation about other less-noted cameos in the film, some of which are demonstrably false.

No, Sabrina Carpenter Isn’t Credited In Deadpool & Wolverine

The “Please Please Please” Singer Does Not Appear In The MCU FilmSabrina Carpenter stares into a mirror in Tall Girl 2

Pop star Sabrina Carpenter is not listed anywhere in the credits for Deadpool & Wolverine. This is not indisputable proof that the singer of “Espresso” does not make a cameo in the film, as roles can occasionally be uncredited. However, amid the long roll of other names that did show up in the film, purposely omitting Carpenter from the list would not make a lot of sense. As a result, it appears that the rumor of Carpenter being in the latest MCU film is completely false.

This does not mean that the actor and singer does not have a future in the MCU. Carpenter has been acting since she was a child, and even played a main role in Girl Meets World for several seasons. She would fit nicely if cast in Blonde Phantom among other projects. Her star has, however, risen astronomically in recent months after releasing the hit song “Espresso,” which many have called the song of summer 2024While Carpenter may be cast in a future Marvel project, she does not appear in Deadpool & Wolverine.

TikTok Discourse Appears To Have Created The False Rumor

Sabrina Carpenter looks shocked on Punk'd

Fan accounts have been reposting fake screenshots of Deadpool & Wolverine credits since last year. One of the most popular of these, shown below, has been posted by this and many other social media accounts and lists Sabrina Carpenter as playing Deadpool 2099 in the film. The credits also list several other strange additions to the cast, including Terry Crews as Venompool and Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man. Notably, Garfield’s character’s name is misspelled, which was the first hint that this image was fake.

Upon the film’s release, however, even more of the listed names can be debunked. Pete Davidson does not play Headpool, Nathan Fillion does. The only variant of Wolverine that Hugh Jackman does not play in the film is played by Henry Cavill, but these credits list several variants played by Karl Urban and Arnold Schwarzenegger. While many of these performers would be fun additions to the film, this goes to show that, in this case, what circulated on social media was fake. Like the rest of these stars, Carpenter does not appear in the film as a Deadpool variant.

Carpenter would make a fine addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, she has not yet made that leap. The singer is clearly at an important moment in her musical career that has likely limited her capacity to take on acting work. Perhaps in the near future, she will appear in the universe, whether in a cameo or in a larger role, but that remains to be seen. In the meantime, the cameos that do appear in Deadpool & Wolverine already make the film an immensely rewarding experience.
