Phillip Schofield has been married to his wife Stephanie Lowe for over 30 years and even though they’re no longer romantically involved, she’s stuck by his side every step of the way.
From coming out as gay on This Morning to being forced to confess to having a relationship with a much younger man, Stephanie, and their daughters have been a rock for Phillip in recent times.
Here’s everything we know about their relationship as Phillip prepares to make his return to TV:

Phillip and Stephanie first met circa 1987 when he was just 25 years old and working at Children’s BBC. Steph worked as a production assistant at the time.
The pair went on to tie the knot in March 1993 at Scotland’s Ackergill Towe.

Phillip and Stephanie share two daughters- Molly, 31, and Ruby, 28.
In 2023, the 62-year-old credited his girls when he confessed that he was in a ‘very bad very’ and ‘utterly broken’. He said he ‘wouldn’t be here’ if it wasn’t for Molly and Ruby.

Phillip came out as gay in May 2020, sharing a heartfelt statement. It read: ‘You never know what’s going on in someone’s seemingly perfect life, what issues they are struggling with, or the state of their wellbeing – and so you won’t know what has been consuming me for the last few years.’
He continued: ‘With the strength and support of my wife and my daughters, I have been coming to terms with the fact that I am gay.
‘This is something that has caused many heart-breaking conversations at home. I have been married to Steph for nearly 27 years, and we have two beautiful grown-up daughters, Molly and Ruby.’

‘My family have held me so close: they have tried to cheer me up, to smother me with kindness and love, despite their own confusion,’ Phillip added at the time. ‘Yet still, I can’t sleep and there have been some very dark moments.
‘My inner conflict contrasts with an outside world that has changed so very much for the better. Today, quite rightly, being gay is a reason to celebrate and be proud.
‘Yes, I am feeling pain and confusion, but that comes only from the hurt that I am causing my family. Steph has been incredible – I love her so very much. She is the kindest soul I have ever met.’

‘My girls have been astonishing in their love, hugs and encouraging words of comfort,’ Phillip gushed. ‘Both mine and Steph’s entire families have stunned me with their love, instant acceptance and support.’
‘Of course they are worried about Steph, but I know they will scoop us both up. My friends are the best, especially Holly, who has been so kind and wise – and who has hugged me as I sobbed on her shoulder. At ITV, I couldn’t hope to work with more wonderful, supportive teams.’
‘Every day on This Morning, I sit in awe of those we meet who have been brave and open in confronting their truth – so now it’s my turn to share mine.’

‘This will probably all come as something of a surprise and I understand, but only be facing this, by being honest, can I hope to find peace in my mind and a way forward,’ Phillip concluded, before pleading: ‘Please be kind, especially to my family.’
At the time, Stephanie showed support for her longtime love Phillip, telling The Sun: ‘I will still be there, holding his hand. Everyone should be proud to live their own truth.’
‘Our family have also been so supportive and will help us going forward. Although this is difficult for us all, I support Phillip in taking this brave step.’
Phillip and Stephanie separated when he came out as gay in mid-2020 but four years later, they’ve yet to divorce.
Scandal

The world of British showbiz was rocked in the summer of 2023 when it was revealed Phillip had had an affair with a younger male colleague while working at ITV.
In a statement shared with MailOnline on May 26, Phillip described the relationship as ‘unwise, but not illegal’ as he confessed to lying to ITV, his colleagues, friends, family and agents at YMU about it.
The admission led the presenter to part ways with YMU agency and ITV, with a spokesperson for the broadcaster stating they were ‘deeply disappointed by [his] admissions of deceit’.
The 62-year-old said Stephanie was ‘very, very angry’ after he confessed to the affair, but she has made no public comment about it.

In his three-part series for Channel 5 titled Cast Away, Phillip opened up about the difficult days following the scandal breaking.
Revealing just how dark those times got for him and what saved him, Phillip said he had ‘everything in place’ for a suicide attempt, however, he decided against it when he spoke with his daughter Molly.
He explained: ‘Molly and Ruby were both looking after me at the time, and Molly said: “Do you imagine what this would do to us if you actually managed to pull this off? Can you imagine what would happen and can you imagine what it would do to me if you did this on my watch?”
‘That was just enough, just enough to take a step back from the edge. I could have been hospitalised, I just raced to the family home and shut the gates and I was in there.’
