Vigil for mother and baby found dead in Queensland home
CCTV has emerged capturing some of the final moments of a Logan mother and her baby girl before they were found dead in their home south of Brisbane.
Kate Paterson, 38, and her one-year-old daughter, April, were found dead with stab wounds in the family’s Bannockburn home yesterday after the child’s father, 39-year-old Blake Seers, was struck by a vehicle just a few hundred metres away.
Officers responding to Seers’ injuries had gone to the home to notify his family but instead found Paterson and April dead with “injuries consistent with an edged weapon”, Detective Superintendent Chris Ahearn confirmed yesterday.

Hours before the discovery, vision shows the 38-year-old mother holding her one-year-old daughter on perhaps their final walk home together on Wednesday afternoon.
Seers remains in hospital under police guard, after being admitted yesterday in a serious condition.
More than 200 people have come together in grief late this afternoon at a candlelight vigil for the much loved primary school teacher.
Past and present students showed up in support and love for the mother and daughter.
The community is struggling to come to terms with their deaths, including neighbour Miriama Terangi.

“They lived on our street, so it’s just right to be here,” Terangi said.
Logan Mayor Jon Raven said a lot of people were in shock.
“To lose someone like that in such tragic circumstances is just horrific,” Raven said.
The house remains a crime scene with a heavy police presence in place.
Alongside the police tape, flowers are growing by the bunch on their front lawn.
Yesterday, police said they were keen to speak to Seers as part of their investigation.
“Our investigations are focusing heavily on the nature of their relationship and those living arrangements at that house,” Ahearn said.
“Our minds are open as to what’s gone on here.”
Anyone with information or relevant CCTV or dashcam is urged to come forward to police.
The investigation is ongoing.
