Silver Falls is not the same place that Jackie left it in My Life with the Walter Boys season 2.
On Tuesday, Aug. 5, Netflix released the trailer for the highly anticipated next season of the hit series, which is based on Ali Novak’s book of the same name, and sees Jackie (Nikki Rodriguez) return to the Walter family’s ranch, where she must face her mistakes.
As the trailer begins, she confesses to her secret kiss with Cole (Noah LaLonde) before she left for the summer to a shocked Grace (Ellie O’Brien), while Katherine (Sarah Rafferty) and George (Marc Blucas) speculate about why she left in the first place.
“Did she say why she left?” George asks his wife.
“I think we both know it had a little something to do with Alex and Cole,” Katherine says.
Things with both of Jackie’s love interests are tense now that she’s back after a summer away.
“Alex, are we okay?” she asks the younger Walter brother (Ashby Gentry), who she left hanging after he told her he loved her at his brother’s wedding — and she kissed Cole later that night.
“I need some time,” Alex tells her.

He also seems to have a new lady in his life, newcomer Natalie Sharp, who plays “champion rodeo rider” B. Hartford, and he seems to be the new focus of a lot of female attention at school, which isn’t helping Jackie either.
As the complications mount, and Jackie continues grieving her family, Katherine tells her, “I’m sorry that I made it seem like it was gonna be easy to come back here. But if anybody can do hard things, it’s you.”
Cole, meanwhile, is focusing on himself. “I’m tired of being a failure,” he says in the trailer, before shocking his family as he reveals, “So I’ve been looking into college applications.”
Despite how complicated everything is, the lingering feelings for Jackie are still alive and well for both Alex and Cole.
The trailer is packed with longing looks between Jackie and both brothers — and a hilarious moment where she thinks Cole is going in for a kiss, when in reality, he’s trying to get a piece of hay out of her hair.

A new love might be in the air for Nathan (Corey Fogelmanis) too, as he seems to be getting close to newcomer Zach (Carson MacCormac), which his boyfriend Skylar (Jaylan Evans) doesn’t look too happy about.
As the trailer concludes, Alex admits to Jackie, “I can’t move on from you,” but she seems more focused than ever on making her life in Silver Falls last, because, as she says, it’s “the only home have now, and I almost lost it.”
There’s also a secret that Jackie is keeping. “I haven’t been completely honest with you,” she reveals as the trailer ends.

Season 2 is “bigger and better,” creator Melanie Halsall has teased, with “more intricate” stories for all the characters.
Per the official description, after Katherine “convinces her to return to Colorado, Jackie is determined to make amends with Alex and set boundaries with Cole while finding her place within the Walter family.”
“But fitting back in isn’t that easy. Alex – who changed a lot over the summer – isn’t too thrilled about Jackie’s attempts to reconnect, as he’s focused on training for a risky rodeo event (and enjoying all of the new attention he’s getting).”

Cole is still grappling with “the void left by not playing football” and “his old ways creep back in and cause drama.”
“As Jackie gains acceptance in Silver Falls while trying to hold onto her Howard identity, she’s forced to make a choice that could destroy everything she’s worked to rebuild.”
Season 2 of My Life with the Walter Boys premieres Thursday, Aug. 28 on Netflix.
