Ex-TV anchor ‘stabs mom to death on Halloween & claimed she had to save herself’ before cops make chilling discovery
The former broadcaster was found covered with blood outside the property
A FORMER TV anchor allegedly stabbed her mother to death on Halloween and reportedly said she wanted to save herself when she called 911.
Angelynn Mock is accused of knifing her mother Anita Avers, 80, in the horror that unfolded in Wichita, Kansas, on Friday.

She was found outside the property covered in blood, as reported by the CBS affiliate KWCH-DT.
Mock, 47, had cuts on her hands, according to cops.
Alyssa Castro, a neighbor, claimed Mock went up to her car and asked to call 911, as per the Fox affiliate KAKE-TV.
Castro claimed Mock took her phone before the anchor told authorities she had stabbed her mother to save herself, according to cops.
When cops swooped on the home, Mock was outside the property before they went inside.
Anita, a marriage and family therapist, was found in her bed covered in several stab wounds.
She was rushed to the hospital where she died 30 minutes later.
Mock has been arrested on first-degree murder charges.
She is being held in a Sedgwick County jail on a $1million bond.
Mock worked in journalism for almost 13 years, between November 2002 and February 2015, according to her LinkedIn.
She started out as a sports reporter and photographer for the ABC affiliate KLKN-TV.
She also worked for the ABC affiliate KAAL-TV between March and July 2004 as a sports reporter.
Mock also worked for the networks KECI-TV between August 2004 and 2006 before joining the Fox affiliate KOKH-TV.
She worked at KOKH-TV between March 2007 and March 2011.
Mock spent almost four years at the St. Louis Fox affiliate KTVI-TV, working as a morning anchor and evening reporter.
She worked as a data management consultant at a time of her arrest.
Just months before her death, Anita shared a picture of Mock working as a broadcaster.
In 2019, Anita shared another picture of herself and her daughter hugging taken during the Christmas holidays.
Cops are still probing a motive behind the stabbing.
It’s not yet known when she will appear in court.
