Former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub believes there is something fishy about the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson postponement.
The controversial fight was scheduled to take place on July 20 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
However, it has since been postponed until further notice after Tyson, 57, was ruled medically unfit to compete after suffering an ulcer flare-up on a flight to Los Angeles.
According to Paul, Tyson is angling for their bout to be rescheduled for between October and December.
But Schaub thinks the fight will get canceled and then replaced by a bizarre match-up between Jake and his older brother Logan Paul.
“Years ago when I had Logan on, he said the ultimate plan – this ends with me and my brother fighting,” Schaub said on his podcast.
“Here’s a question. Put my tinfoil hat on. Was this the plan all along?
“Here’s another question for you guys. What gets more – Mike Tyson versus Jake Paul or Jake Paul versus Logan Paul?
“I’m not saying on YouTube, on Netflix. Because if you take Mike Tyson out of that fight, my dad’s not watching it.
“My dad’s not watching Logan Paul. But a ton of youngsters… are gonna tune in.
“What do I think gets more views overall? Jake Paul versus Logan Paul, because you’re going to get their fanbases, which is bigger than Mike Tyson’s.”
When the news broke that Paul vs Tyson had been postponed, Logan jokingly threw his hat in the ring to replace Iron Mike.
Taking to social media at the time, he wrote: “So Mike Tyson’s out? I’ll step in and we can settle this once and for all.”
‘The Problem Child’ responded: “Mum doesn’t want me to KO you but f*** it.
“Loser has to change their last name. #PaulvsPaul.”
The brothers have teased the possibility of them fighting each other on several occasions although it seems unlikely they will bite the bullet just yet.
Logan is fully focused on his career as a WWE superstar while Jake is expected to wait for Tyson given the magnitude of the fight.
