Madeleine would be 22 now, and the TikToker is a year younger
Right now, there is a fresh search taking place in the case of missing girl, Madeleine McCann. This has meant the story has been back in the news a lot. Amid this, the story of a TikToker who claimed she hung out with Madeleine McCann on the very day she went missing has been going viral.
Madeleine went missing in Portugal in 2007. At the time, she was three, and disappeared from her bed in a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz. Her parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, have never given up hope that one day she might be found, or we might find out what really happened.
Over the years, loads of people have come forward claiming they think they might be Maddie. But now, a TikToker is telling a slightly different story – she witnessed the little girl on the day she is reported to have gone missing.
Alice posted the video on TikTok, and it’s now had nearly a million views. “Story time on how I saw Madeleine McCann the day she disappeared,” it’s titled. Alice went on to say she hadn’t been made aware of her run in with Madeleine, until her mum told her about it around a year ago.
“Me and my parents were in Portugal on holiday, in the same kind of area and at the same time Madeleine was on holiday,” Alice explained. “The day of the evening she went missing we went to the beach, right outside her resort area. Madeleine was at the kids’ club during the day, and they [the McCanns] went on a walk to the beach where me and my parents were.”
Alice then referenced an article from at the time, that confirmed Kate and Gerry McCann dropped their children off at the club, and then went on a walk.
Alice continued: “They then came down to the beach where me and my parents were. I was one or two at the time, so my mum took me over to go and hang out with the kids’ club. She [Madeleine] was there. I don’t remember it. But yeah, I was hanging out with them for a little bit.”
Alice then claimed that afterwards she was “on the beach playing” when a “German man” approached her family and offered to buy her. “He offered to buy me. Dead serious, not joking around,” Alice said. “He was persistent in trying to buy me. Which is a bit creepy cause she [Madeleine] went missing the evening of [that day].”
Alice called it “really eerie” and “very creepy”. She said her parents went to the police about what happened.
In a further video, Alice clarified she was “nearly two” at the time this all took place.
